Curious.. Are there any Europeans on this forum that would like to testify as to why America is GREAT? Also, Does anyone know how much foreign aid Europeans give to America? What made the post war pups so liberal? Were their fathers liberal also? Is everyone really that pissed off, just because we DONT CARE? My apoligies in advance. ps. diex : you should ask your fellow americans why they are against us government actions. There are no anti-american europeans. No one in europe hates us or americans. That is why we sent money, clothes and food when us suffered from natural dissasters. Ask your media why they spread propaganda that we are anti-american. If we do not share same views that does not mean we hate eachother ! As a proof I can present that we sent help when americans needed it and us embassy also gave help when we needed it ! I want to add. I don’t think Americans need anyone to tell us we are great. We really don’t care. Americans can believe they are great without the approval of Euros. it really doesnt matter. It seems Europeans are really offended by our positive outlook and pride in our country (left wing not withstanding). Remember, no one has ever given this country a thing, WE WORK FOR IT (oh yea, and for those not comfortable in reality, sometimes we take it, like every other nation state in history, hmm seems alot like the cold cruel world). Some seem to have the opinion that Americans are ass backwards and ignorant. The proof is in the pudding. Of course those people are usually seething with envy and jealousy, and likely suffering from self esteem issues. Our bubble is fine, we are in the process of repairing it. Well I think America is great. I think it's a fantastic country, with marvellous, friendly people. American culture has enriched our lives and American industry has contributed greatly to the standard of living we all enjoy. Also historically America has been one of the 'good guys' (unless you're a native American but we'll draw a discreet veil over that). I have to say that we're not supporters of the foreign policy of the current Administration - but that's been done to death on here and I won't go into it again. All I'll say is Winston Churchill one said "You can always rely on America to do the right thing - after they've tried everything else." Hopefully that will still be true.
You do realise that Winston Churchill quote is a bash of America? He is saying they never try to do the right thing.

No, he said they do the right thing eventually! Not quite the same thing! I meant it in context of the current US 'Gunboat Diplomacy' approach to Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, etc.

Europeans in general are not against America. In fact, one of our best friends in the world, the British, are in europe. The French and Germans are pretty anti-war in today's day and age, and therefore probably oppose a lot of issues that America has had to make decisions on. I can say that if the British ever needed our help in any situation that I would hope we would return the favor. That is how much I think of them. The british may not think that we are in the right right now, thats fine I don't expect everyone to agree with us. But when you are willing to fight alongside of a friend because it is something that THEY believe in. I really respect that. Thanks to all the British that might visit these forums for your sacrifices. I don't think it goes unnoticed.
If people don't like Bush it doesn't mean they don't like America. I have nothing against America or Americans, however, Bush is sometimes a pin in the butt.
