How to Tell a No Follow Blog

Discussion in 'Link Development' started by experienceadvertising, Dec 4, 2007.

Hey all, I really like posting comments on blogs when I see them, but I never know if its "no follow" because I really like getting a link back when I do take the time to comment. How can this be detected? Is it right in the mta-tags of the page?

You could also view the source of the page you are looking at and do a search for 'nofollow' and this will tell you aswell.

If you really want to comment, you won't really care.

Anyway, you can View Page Source using your browser and Find "nofollow".

Is external nofollow the same thing as rel=nofollow?

All of these are good tips, especially the ones about the Firefox add-on. Also, when you're commenting, just right click on a link another commentator has already made, and click "properties". If the link is a nofollow, it will say so - if it's not, it'll say nothing. This only works if you use Firefox, I believe - but that's what I do. It's quickest. :)

    Here is the formula.
Control U will bring the source page.
Then press Control F to get the find window.
Type in "nof" and if you see {rel="nofollow"} is highlighted.
Then you can be sure that this is a nofollow blog.
    Hope that helps.

Well, for me...I do the old-skul way. I view the source code of a post. It's hard-work but it's worth it :)
