Google vs Yahoo - Yahoo is more popular

I think so!

 

Google is just a Search Engine.

 

Yahoo has more content than google. You do know that google has a ton of resources that aren't hosted on the google domain name itself, right?

Yahoo has news and everything else. Even a directory + a games section, right?

 

G is trying hard and succeeding at becoming the internet god this is intimidating to webmasters. Yahoo catching up can only be a good thing for google. I think G tampers with their results too much and yahoo's keep improving more people will move to yahoo. G is being their own worst enemy.

 

^^ As with any monopoly, eventually you have to satisfy the bureaucracy and the number crunchers. As with all great monopoly's, Google will fall and lose its glory... eventually.

 

it's not serious to compare Google with Yahoo! Google is several times better as crawling technology and it's much more popular (which mean more traffic). And whereas Yahoo is irritatingly trying to charge their users for everything Google shows more respect. And all the other application (as mail, blog creator, API etc) Google is at least one class above Yahoo. It is like to compare Fiat with Ferari...

Yeah, I agree... Yahoo offers more services coz it's a portal than Google which focus more as a search engine...

 

I think Yahoo! Mail is one of the main reasons they have more hits to their site. Google has Gmail, but Yahoo was one of the first major corporations to offer such great free email services.

 

Yahoo provides better services in my opinion. That is why I use it. Google will always rank higher than Yahoo, but in my opinion they just don't offer what Yahoo does.

Google is far above any other search engine and like it or not it will be for a very long time.
Frase "Gooogle it" may have been entered to few directories by now ...

 

Which is Better
1. Mail = Yahoo is Better then everyone in Mail(First in E-mail everybody using.). Peoples don't use G-mail.
2. chatting= so many visit Yahoo cause of chatting. G-mail have this but don't have chat box feature.
3. Search Engine - Everyones by default search Engine is Google. most of service provide G-toolbar. most bydefault searc engine is Google. Yahoo is good but not default.
4. Ad provider- In Ads people visit Google cause they have account in Adsense. Most have account in Yahoo also. But anyone can register in Adsense from anywhere in the world. But Yahoo ads not allowed in whole world. when yahoo allow world to register for their ads. yahoo should beat Adsense.

it's not that yahoo SEARCH is more popular it's that yahoo as a PORTAL is more popular with everything they have.

google SEARCH is more popular than yahoo SEARCH...and has better results

Yes, Yahoo receives more traffic but in terms of popularity both are equally popular. If you ask an average user, he will be equally familiar with both the sites.

Hmmm - now I do like pointless facts, but lets break this down:


You have deduced that more people use GOOGLE to search for YAHOO, than people use GOOGLE to search for GOOGLE.

Why WOULD they use Google to search for Google, as they are ALREADY ON IT!!


A more interesting statistic would be:

Yahoo vs. Google at Alexa Traffic

which demonstrates that google.com receives more than 3 times the traffic that yahoo.com does, and as pointed out in this thread previously, it doesnt include google.co.uk, google.de, google.ca and all the rest of the country specific TLD's.
