Yeah, hopefully Rudd will pull through with his fibre optic promise. I'm with Telstra and I HATE it -- we're paying $100/month for an 8mbit connection with a 20GB limit but wait! We pay $0.15 per MB exceeded over the cap. No speed shaping, just ridiculous rates that you have no idea of cause the "warning" emails are lost in the endless amounts of spam that the bigpond email receives. You'd think that they'd atleast have the decency to give you a call and ever-so kindly notify you that you're nearing the limit.
I had a 2 mbps connection, until the ISP handed over a bill of 150$ for my usage. I now have downgraded to 75 kbps unlimited connection, for 10$ a month. I cannot upload or download anything with such speed. I can get a 256 kbps unlimited connection for 30$ a month here in India. But I cannot afford it. I am still struggling after paying my last bill of 150$. We don't earn that much here.
Well, I guess one good thing about Labor getting into government is the promised 'world-class broadband', although I haven't noticed anything really crap about my internet connection... Give Internode a shot I guess.
you'll find the problem is to do with the cost and distence of laying the fibre optic cables, you have both got vast lands and no population, where in the uk and EU, we have the same population in a major city.
Sorry, but LMAO, seriously. I'm very sorry for you. Hi, This is what you get in Germany for 29.99 Euros a month, with Telephone and Internet Flatrate. (Cable)
It really wasn't meant to act up, sorry. Anyway, I got it about 2 months ago, I had 1 mbit DSL before, so I love it!
Internet here in India cost affordable to you. Like I am using Sify broad band 256 kbps and it cost me 550 INR (14$) per month.
Are you sure you're geting 256 kbps. Please confirm by running SpeedTest on a foreign server, since most websites are on US servers. Here, I have a Reliance unlimited 75 kbps for 450 Rs a month. At home, I have BSNL 1GB limit, 250 Rs a month, which gives a speed of 125 kbps for foreign servers, and over 2000 kbps for Indian servers test. Thats weird.
that's insane! but are you guy living in city or suburb? You can't complain if you live far away from others cause it is really expensive to bring optical cable everywhere I paid $40 for 10 M in new york and in Hong Kong you pay $30 for 50m and $88 for 200 M
