Your going by state averages..wich dont even accuretly reflect the true numbers anyway.. In my city its 16% and you might not know in va. the unemployment numbers only come from people who are activly recieving unemployment benifiets.. (not the true number of people who are unemployed). Thats where people get fooled if your laid off and you havent been working at the same place for long enough you dont qulify and your not counted. The numbers also dont reflect the people who dont recieve unemployment benifets after 6 months there is a cutt off you lose your benifiets and your no longer counted as a statistic.. (bet you prob didnt know that did you) And your not even counted in those statitics also if you are working for a temperay agency the main stay of employment here and you lose your job your also not elegiable for unemployment or counted.. (im unemployed and im not counted in those statistics) We have lost over 15+ Factorys closed 30,000 furniture and textile jobs in the past 10 years due to outscourceing.. You cant even get a job at burger king here and thats no joke.. sad but true and social services has a line of mexcians stretching all the way around the corner every day. And that stuff is comming out of our taxes. Trust me ive never seen it so bad as it is right now.. the only possiable place to work is through a temp service if your lucky and when you go you have to wait in line behind 10-15 illeagles and most likely they get hired and you wont because the companys get a tax break for hireing them. Me my father my grandfather and great grandfather all worked in these factorys all of our lifes and now every factory is closed and relocated to china. thats the reality. We are left with only service jobs and heavy competition with the illeagles for those.. I honstly feel for the people who come here looking for a better life.. But i say let the gov. stop sending our jobs over seas and we can support them as it is now send them home we cant take care of oursleves let alone them. And if they get benifets and special treatment and dont pay the same amount of taxes wtf/.. is that fair i think not.. Anyway thats my feelings and how im personaly effected by illeagle immigration everyone in usa may not be affected the same way but here its hurting us bad.. But the bigger problem the true evil is the 'outscourcing' of our jobs to other countrys .
I could use a product tester for a few weeks. All you need to do is read English and criticize the hell out of it. I'm not so interested in things like subject and verb agreement as I am interested in "Does this damned article make sense?" PM me if interested.
You want NAFTA and Free Trade Agreements reversed? Ask your economists and politicians whether your local businesses will be able to afford that. Outsourcing keeps your inflation in check. I would agree there should be a line drawn somewhere. Local population has the right to jobs first. But this is a globalised world. For years, jobs were sent to America since we lacked machines or trained manpower. Now, they are coming back to India, since we have our own skilled manpower now. It is a zero-sum game, you know.
No. If your economy is strong and vibrant, your country will produce more jobs than it would loose. But when it comes to pure economics, the money (and jobs) will go to the most optimum location, in this case China and India, since it is helping save millions for your companies. Consider the case of airliners. increase in oil prises, and heavy competition is costing them a lot of money. Now, by transferring the work of ticket-booking by phone to call centres in India, your airliners are making sure more Americans don't loose their jobs. They pay measly amounts here, about 300$ a month.
This is a NON zero-sum game. The Indians and Chinese get jobs and the U.S. gets airliners. We then sell the airliners to others. Everyone makes money -- everyone wins. I don't see a perfect explanation for this, so you may have to do a wee bit of reading. Really, outsourcing (offshoring) has saved the American economy from collapse. On the flip side, it is also helping the developing economies to develop. It's a definite win-win situation.
Yes, I agree. How far do you think this outsourcing can go. I see new companies everyday, working for western companies on everything like setting up a wireless broadband, to booking airline tickets, to even doing biotechnology research and clinical trials. Even law firms in India are studying US laws so they can take US outsourcing jobs for attorneys. I knew this would happen Attorneys in US are expensive, isn't it? I am happy all my friends got into good jobs as soon as they got their degrees a few months ago. Even I have a job. I had heard of tales of misery, where getting a job was so difficult. Not anymore. I get at least a couple of phone calls every week from employment agencies trying to find people for companies.
THEY TOOK OUR JORBS!!!!! We need to develope a efficient way of letting people in here, illegal immigration will not end, and violence is never the answer... so instead of ostercizing people(minutemen kinda), or ignoring the issue completely('goverment'), we need to develope a reasonable way of allowing mexicans in. The truth is if we kicked out all these illegal immigrates right now, we'd run out of wine... can you drink to that? I can.
I think it's going to go until the term itself loses meaning. Eventually, every company of moderate size will be global and people won't know or care who their co-workers are or where they work. I like to use the term "overpriced" for lawyers. But India is now pricing itself out of some markets and outsourcing jobs to Bangladesh and other locations which are further down on the development curve.
Even the Indians were immigrants. They came to America in many successive waves of immigration. Imagine if the first Asian to walk across put up a little fence and said "Hey you foreigners! Keep out!"
yup, but only because they are illegal Honestly, i rather hire a II than an average American for the same salary. Those Mexican works their ass off. There are too many American who didn't take their job seriously. Watching those kid working in fast food made my eye bleed. They are slow as hell... It is the second generation of those immigrants that American should be fear. They work as hard as their parent and they got education.
gauharjk i disagree outscourceing isnt good for us at all.. The problem is corprate greed.. Now imagain the factory owner or bussiness who is already doing very well and employing manye thousands of people.. But because he can relocate his bussiness to china/india and save himself more money only making his self ritcher and his stock holders ritcher not anyone else.. So they close thier factory down thousands of american workers lose their job and the factorys go to china or india saving possiably millions of dolars. Do you think any of us see that money? Thats not helpng us. Now imagain if more and more do this.. before long most all our jobs are gone just so the fat cats at the top can make more money The ritch get ritcher and the poor get poorer.. And to people who think illeagles should be able to come here ya ok america is only what 42 trillion dollars in debt ya let all of mexcos poor come and sign up for food stamps put a burdon on social services our school systems and prison systems bring their drugs across the border go to our hospitals and not pay making our health care prices go so high we cant pay yea let them come itll all be ok.. We will just feed them cloth them and educate them give them our jobs no need for them to pay the same taxes we do dont want to hurt anyones feelings.. do we Yup let them all come and at the same time send all of our jobs over seas yup its a good thing rightttttttttt..
We did not jump onto the social welfare train. We worked, and we paid our taxes. We did not break the law.
not exactly true. Come to those project in Bronx/Newark. it is even worse. No one works, you see junkie everywhere and people get shot everyday
