Yahoo Answers PageRank Updates?

    Hi.

I posted a question on yahoo answers around about a week ago. At first, the pagerank shown in Google toolbar was PR0. After the page got indexed by Google, it changed to PR0. Now it appears as a PR5. So, as with no evident PR updates on any other site, how come Yahoo Answers' pages visual pagerank is updated all the time?

Or am I missing something? Hmm.

But even the voice of Google - Matt Cutts - says that pagerank is continuously internally but isn't shown to us - and is only shown to us at every PR Toolbar Update. So it shouldn't update the Toolbar PR within a few days, it should be within several months at the next Toolbar PR update, right?

That's quite normal (but yet rare). Google sometimes assign a PageRank (a little earlier) to new internal pages of a high PR site.

*E.g. in DigitalPoint, some threads in the 6th to 7th page in the Yahoo forums already have PR between 0 and 4 [but that's because they were probably there on the first page of DigitalPoint when the Google PageRank update kicked in].

I'd assume your going to an older page when you updated, or perhaps they merged the answers. Page rank in the tool bar updates with their quarterly (approximate) page rank updates. Threads on the 6th to 7th page might simply be older threads which somebody bumped.
