I've just subbmitted my directory to italian dmoz at least 5 times, without nay answer; should I submit my directory to dmoz.org english? thanks ps: if the answer is negative, what could I do? Thank again
If you directory is in Italian, that is the correct place to offer it. It will not be listed in English sections if it is in Italian. Sorry we do not have the facilities to tell people if their site has been rejected. Likely that it is in a queue and I do not edit in Italian so i have no idea what the queues are like there. If you have offered it this year, then please don't keep offering it, it will actually slow it down, it is put to the bottom of the list. If you have not submitted this year then please do so, but only once. There is nothing after that you can do to speed it up or find out what has happened. Suggest you spend your time finding other ways to promote your site, as there is nothing more you can do here. And just a word of warning, you might read you can buy your way in, don't believe it, one would be banned for life for even trying, but I am sure you wouldn't do that.
He meant the last 12 months. DMOZ had a major server problem lat in 2006 and submissions prior to that time may have been lost.
ODP do not generally communicate any information about sites being received, listed or rejected. The belief is that one offers a site for consideration and if it is accepted it is seen in the directory, but that can take several months, but you are also not told if the site is not accepted, sorry.
How sick can one get, this is from an ex-editor (that's the kind title not robjones's) who did half a dozen edits including listing his own, had a temper tantrum and walked out. What a joke.
*sigh* And you are the punchline... You promote such things here: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=4435403#post4435403 here is another editor giving similar advice: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=4487773&highlight=apply#post4487773 Another one (that goes into more detail): http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=5265385#post5265385 So sorry, just following the advice of existing editors (including yourself) and trying to help...
Ok, let's look at it another way. What sort of person recommends someone to do something that they themselves, on principle would not be seen dead doing? Or is it not true that you walked out on ODP and, despite your friend telling you to go back, you steadfastly refused to do so. Incidentally if you decide to try again, don't post here or I might be tempted to break my cover and post in a thread on ODP that it would be a bad idea to allow it!!
Like you joining Digital Point? That's OK Revr, I'm sure most people won't even care who you really are... ____________ Though, none of that really has anything to do with the topic at hand. Why make this (and every thread) into something about me? Why must you disagree with everything I say, even when I am say the same things that you have said? Becoming an editor, for any reason, in your eyes, should be a good thing...so long as it's for the betterment of the directory. That is all I tried to make happen here.
Can you point to where I have said that? Mainly because you are just so hypocritical. You claim to be have been an editor to know something therefore and you were there 2 minutes, you tell us you do not want to go back because of what they did and you tell others to go and do what you had chance to do and left in a spat. Why on earth should you want to tell people to do that? Just preface your posts, "I am a total hypocrite, but why don't you become an editor" and I will leave you alone.
It's getting hard to understand what's going on with all this school-yard silliness going on. I'm off to dog school now, I have a feeling they'll make more sense anyway. Or is it just me?
Baah that was mean , she taking max out to school for his lessons , i think ike also going along and taking the training
