Why doesn't Ebay turn Ebay.com into a site that is a compilation of all ebay listings, world wide, from all Ebay sites? And then they can develop Ebay.us as the USA market site for those who only want to buy from the US. I really hate it when I am looking for something on Ebay.com and they don't have what I want but a site like Ebay.co.uk does. Personally I don't care if my item is coming from .co.uk, .in, .co.nz or whatever, as long as the seller has a good rep and the item is what I want. I just don't want to have to join ebay.co.uk when I am already a long time, good standing member of Ebay.com. Wouldn't it be easier this way.. They would have made a few extra sales with me if it were this way. But instead I found what I wanted elsewhere or just did without. What do you think is there reasoning behind this?
Their reasoning is probably that since .com is the most popular TLD they should reserve it for the biggest market, USA.
Well the market would just be that much larger if they used the .com to combine all auctions from all of the sites worldwide. As far as I'm concerned .com should be the Globalized extenstion anyway. Sellers on the other ebays could click to choose if they also want there item to appear on the "Globalized" .com ebay. Buyers that go to the "Globalized" .com ebay could choose to display the prices in what ever currency they so choose. I would love this sooooo much.. It would create a HUGE market, much larger than it already is and people would be able to just be a member of the .com w/o having to set up accounts everywhere.
