Index page disappeared

Today, when I searched for my website using site:xxxxxx.com, I found that it did not return my index page. But it returns all the other pages. (In fact I don't know for how long has it been like this since the site was not maintained and I just plan to put some effort on it.)

Did anyone experience this before? I am still unable to figure it out what the problem is.

It could be a few different reasons, it's hard to say without the URL. Do you have many backlinks and how old is your site?

It is an adult site. I don't know if it is ok to mention the url in this section of the forum.

I will put it here for the moment and I will remove it if is violating any Policy here in DP

    it is sex-pic.discuss4u.com

The main domain is a chinese site and this is an english one. Since it is in deed a mirror of the original Chinese site. Some pages (with pics only) will appear to be duplicated. I am thinking if using noindex for all this pages will help or not. But if I do that there will only be two pages left for the whole website.

I just found that there is no cache for the index page. But I am sure that it is on the search results in the past.

Do you own the domain Maxiddl.com because yours is showing a redirect to that.

That's strange, this is the first time I encounter the domain Maxiddl.com

I tried to make a search in G using "sex-pic.discuss4u.com". The first result is that Maxiddl.com page.

Can there be any possibility that it is being hacked....

No not hacked, it's a Google error. I've noticed this happening to alot of sites since the last PR update. For example a site i've been working on that's got over 6k backlinks and it's showing another 2 domains that have no connection to the owner see here

I see. May be in this case I need to wait for the while to see what happens. By the way, do you think I should noindex all the inside pages like sex-pic.discuss4u.com/main/showpics-9610.html ?

Since I don't think I will take time to translate the chinese to english. They will all titled as a pic number.

In fact I would just like to ensure everything is alright before I do the link building work.

    Thanks!

Sometimes it happens to site that has duplicate content or has less quality backlinks. I suggest, try to get more quality links and update the page with unique content.

Contents are the problem. As you know a site like that are mostly images. In fact I always wonder how a site with only images and a few words can be optimized.

I think site with mostly images can also optimized with the right title and alt tags on images using your targeted keywords. And also by using your targeted keywords as anchor text when building links will help a site that is mostly images.
