The yellow color from the bottom kinda hurts your eye. Other than that, it look good. I like the icons.
I like the gradient idea. For your header, instead of using a brown stroke/border, try a dark green instead.
I like the site overall. The colors are a little bold for my taste though. I personally like forums with softer colors because if I like the forum, I intend on viewing it pretty often and I can't stare at a screen where the colors are too bold or too bright. The header image with the Cleats picture in it looks a little cheap, I think it would look better with a better designed logo. Maybe add some other shaded equipment behind your site name all the way across the header. Just some ideas. Looks like you have most sports categories covered though. As I said though, overall I like the site, just a few tweaks would make it more appealing for me. Good Luck!
If this is Sport forum, well... maybe thigs like 'general discussion' should placed below main, sport forums. But this is just a detail
As mentioned, the colour scheme needs some work and I would remove those football images you are using to divide your sub-forums.Or at least make them smaller.
I can't stare at the screen for long with that yellow ... really bad. I still think that mild colors work best for forums, since one has to spent a considerable amt of time there.. heh.
Nice site colors are little too bright, the header hurts my eyes but i am slightly color blind lol. How are you covering such big niche of sports wouldn't it be easy to focus on two or three categories and slowly grow. I am in the same dilemma have sport blog site which i have no idea how to market and bring posts.
Looks like you cover about all sports. The only thing that really bothered me was the red font on the green. It is really hard to read the read type. Maybe change that to black. maybe also consider a weekly pod cast with different atheletes as guest. Just a suggestion. Good luck with it.
I liked the part of the center, but the background is strange, that yellow with orange... I wish good luck.
