Judaism is all about monotheism and worshiping the 1 true God, so the term 'atheist jew', is a great oxymoron to me.

Precisely. The two examples are totally different. As I have said all along, there are religious Jews, and atheist Jews. There are ethnic Jews, and non-ethnic Jews.

I'm sorry this seems difficult for you. Atheists cannot be mono- or poly-theists, for that matter, and an atheist Jew is patently not an oxymoron.

Jew (religious, ethnic or not) atheist = oxymoron.
