Searching and reading the forums here, i saw MANY web sites not to exist any more. And from the date of the posts i see that some of them are less that a year or even 6 months old. Since i' have just started a project for adsense (and possibly other ad network at some point), with a total goal of 10 travel websites, i would like to know what is the timeframe we must wait to see and judge the results. We don't have big money to spend, we do good (i think) SEO, we are currently submiting our site(s) where we can for free and even for a small fee. We will also at some point spend some money for Adwords, when the 1st two sites are completely loaded with data. No need to say that we spend a lot of time daily for that project and we are extremely serious. We love the subject of the project, we know it inside-out. I would say that a year is enough to say if a project is sucessfull or not ? And what would be the income in order to say it has maybe a future ? Many questions i know... Thanks
Anywhere up to 2 months to index. Then 3 months for good SERP results. After say 8-10 months you will know whether your going to be successful or not. Thats just my findings though, others on here seem to have rapid success.
Joey's post kinda sums up what I would normally say. The difference is it really depends on the project. I've got some LONG term projects that I've given, and financially support even with no returns, for 1.5-2 more years. It all comes down to how hard you work at something and what you believe in. Of course, there are ways to speed up the process, but some projects NEED time to mature. A MAJOR project... like lets say something trying to compete with YouTube... I'd give that 2-3 years but it'd be a lot of hard work. You'd basically need to pry all of the loyal users to YouTube to your site (just an example) and that may not be an easy task. Now if it's something NEW, it may take 3-6 months if you use the right marketing techniques.
What i can add to what i wrote above: Our project subject(s) are very-very specific and narrow. Highly searchable and well paid Our goal is to have around 1000 pages in each web site and they are supported also from a nicely installed and maintened forum Our goal is to be able to make around 500 $ per month ((15 $ per day) from each website. Right now, after one month and one NOT completely loaded with data website, we make around 1$ (2-3 clicks) a day (while everything is almost sleeping from traffic). Thanks
Just keep updating your site and getting quality backlinks. After a few months you will know if it will take off or not.
