    I'm very furious with google.
My site has about 800 unique articles, with gives me 18.000 unique visitors every day. My earing was about 70 - 80$ per day until 16th november, when google set up the new ¨$%@#¨%@ clickable area. My clicks and earnings dropped tooooo much, now i'm getting only 10 dollars per day, if not less.

I changed the ad positions, colors, everything, and the CTR does not grow up again ... is anyone in my situation too? :(

I really dont know what to do. My country have only 4 or 5 good affiliates programs, i tried them all but the result was terrible ...

lets put it this way...if the viewer really wanted to click that adsense link, they'd click again until they actually hit on the right part of the link.

now you know the TRUE value of your site, instead of wasting $70 / day of advertisers money..

i know, thats not much help, but thats the way it is. by doing this google has pleased their most important customers - the advertisers.

if this was the REAL reason, the CPC should grow up by 80-100% too. But it's still me same.

    I PAID for these articles.

I'm sure there's something wrong. My placement were not too invasive, could not result in 80-90% accidental clicks.

My earning have actually gone up since the change. It might have effected people more if the adds are within the content but since mine is off to the side it seems that anyone who wanted to click the add still clicks it. Sorry that your earnings have been hit so much.

Same. I am about to drop Adsense. ~ 2500 uniques, i experience 80% loss in revenue. Sure my CTR was affected after Google's ad format change, but the problem are the low paying clicks that came later.
Its hilarious. i am not dependant 100% on Google, but it was a major money maker. I still hope the eCPM picks up! Better soon..

Does this mean people were accidentally clickng your ads. Even if it dropes, it should not drop by much. Is the drop in earnings because of lower CTR or lower cpc?

What is your CTR priot to and after inroduction of new clickable concept?

    my site is www.infoescola.com .
example of an article page: http://www.infoescola.com/biologia/biotecnologia/
(now i'm testing the 160x600 skyscrapper, it was an 300x250 with the same colors - before the "big change", it was embedded in the content, no borders) .

CTR was five to six %.

the earnings dropped because the cpc is low (but it was worst) and the CTR is low too.

Okay, no wonder why your earnings are low. Don't use the skycraper on the article pages (they suck), but instead go with the 250x250 ad.

Even though I don't understand Portuegese (this is Portuegese, right? I say that because you are from Brazil), my first impressions are that its a good site. As far as I can make out, it looks like a site for school children concentrating on information on different subjects. would I be right in assuming that? Try removing the border from the ad.

Yes! it's portuguese and the articles are targeted to students from 15 to 20 years old. But I have professionals in my audience too, mothers and fathers of these students, etc. I have tried removing the border - ctr still low.

You got to give a bit more time (a day or two) before you judge the effects. Anyway, are you getting well-targetted ads at the moment?

that's a problem too. Few pages have well-targeted ads. Maybe a reason for this is that just there's no advertisers for these keywords found in the pages.

But ... it always were like this, so it's not the main reason for the drop ...
