All directories are welcome including bid directories of course... Hello, I never cried, I just said my point (I think I am allowed to do this on my thread) I also don't remember to ever offend a directory owner, his directories or his ideas regardless if I liked them or not. Reciprocal respect means to accept that the world is not spinning around you...you'll probably understand this once you'll grow up a bit before you'll let down everyone around. With this list I'm not playing russian roulette or trying to linkbait...it is just an easy way for the submiter to get a backlink and probably some extra clicks to his website. I would also ask you to start your own thread where to criticise myself, my "so called video directory" and my useless list. This is all I could come up with...please be more creative than myself and start something really unique and useful as I'm sure you never did and then I'll praise your efforts on every forum on the net. Untill then my simple life advice still stands...you like it, feel free to submit - don't like it, move along or try to do something better instead of blah blah... Thanks
This thread is quickly becoming the reason I mentioned to Marius I might not participate in it next month when I emailed him my screenprint. No matter the source of the actual stats there will be people who would rather criticize them than accept the truth. How can the ranking of the traffic get better than seeing the actual traffic report? That is what Marius asks for and receives in order to place a site on the list. Marius is making a good effort to create some useful information for those interested in submitting to directories based on traffic. It is probably not a perfect system, but show me one that is. If you don't like it then don't participate. BTW --- Wishing everyone here a great holiday season!
No Matter what you do there is always some one who has another view, From here i think its a great idea so congrats to the OP, swedal, run your business your way, don't buckle with a few outside voices, if you do it will be their directory not yours, pull your pants up son, show em who's the boss in your back yard Edit, to the OP why stop the list at 50 ?
nice list of high traffic directories, am getting my stats ready search traffic is the best kind of traffic, because if a person can take the time to search in a search engine, he will also dig in your listings and find a website that is helpful to their needs!! sponsored traffic can not match this, even adwords traffic dosenot match SE quality! 1) SE traffic gives at-least 1 click to the ads in about 10 impressions! adwords takes too many hits to get the clicks, so not so good conversions! 2) SE traffic can result in a purchase, for adwords and other stuff like those will require plenty of hits, and highly targeted campaigns to convert in a purchase. From SE trafic i have sold, wallpapers, picture frames.........many many things, but from adwords and other paid advertisements i am unable to sell anything yet! but you can sell from adwords traffic too, you just need to run a very targeted campaign but when you are running a campaign on a directory category or sub-category the campaign will not be targeted to all the sites listed in that category, rather you will have to make individual campaigns for each site and then it can be any good for your listed sites. this is the reason why SE traffic is so vital for the directories.
Thanks to all who submitted their directories to this list so far... I hope it will help you with some traffic and why not some sales as well Thanks again
Thanks, Joanne! I really like when people are open minded and have nothing to hide Here is a little rant about this http://www.zyas.com/blog/
That was a very interesting and eye opening article. I gave you a Digg and posted a comment with it. Best of luck, Joanne
Great post Marius and thanks for putting the list together. I am glad to have submitted my stats to you and probably will do so again next month. As you saw from the report I sent - nothing to hide here. If people want quality they can see where to find it.
Thanks for the kind words, Bruce As a small update...just to let everyone know...I won't accept any other submissions for this month so I'll see you all between 1st and 3rd of January I've been working pretty hard in order to make this list to deliver some traffic to the listed directories so here is what I have achieved so far: traffic directories #1 and #2 http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=traffic+directories&btnG=Search directories traffic #1 http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=directories+traffic&btnG=Search directories traffic list #1 and #2 http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=directories+traffic+list&btnG=Search traffic directories list #1 and #2 http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=traffic+directories+list&btnG=Search top traffic directories #1 and #2 http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=top+traffic+directories&btnG=Search top 50 directories #1 http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=top+50+directories&btnG=Search top directories #34 and #35 so far... http://www.google.com/search?q=top+directories&hl=en&start=30&sa=N There are some other combinations of keywords where I rank 1st spot or 1st page related to directories and their traffic I'll see you all in January for the new, updated list
Thanks Mikey...they might not be the busiest keywords in the world but they are the most representative for this list ...and the most important thing is that many of these keywords already started to deliver traffic which is just great
keep up the good work > every little helps....as my company motto goes I noticed you no longer own yhay. seems ientry bought it. hope you got a good price for it
Yhay was my first baby directory...this is how all started. It was my way to learn about directories...now it's just about time to move on to more important projects like Zyas and another one I'm working on... I felt sorry the day I sold but this is life...sometimes you have to quit some projects in order to be able to achieve your dreams. Hopefuly they will be able to maintain the editorial standards apart from the way they understand to monetize directories. I used to get over 200 daily submissions and NEVER approved more than 10% of that...hopefuly they won't let just about any site in there. Regarding the price...iEntry bought a few other free directories from me so it was a good and fair price...as I would never sell for peanuts
