Seeing as we have no way of really knowing when the next update will be I agree with Hersheys, build the parts and worry about the sum total (page rank) later.

Well back on the topic. My PR has been fluctuating for 2 weeks on one of my sites. Originally went up to PR5, then back down to PR3 and now its stable on PR4. :)

Six weeks ago we saw a dramatic PR drop for a number of well-known sites:

bobchrist said "There are drastic drop in PR this time, many major sites experience PR drop".
It now seems that many of these sites have recovered their PR drop, in fact some (AutoBlog, Copyblogger, WP, etc.) have increased their PR...

    • Engadget (from PR7 to PR5, now PR7)
    • AutoBlog (from PR6 to PR4, now PR7!!!)
    • Problogger (from PR6 to PR4, now PR6)
    • Copyblogger (from PR6 to PR4, now PR7!!!)
    • Washington Post (from PR7 to PR5, now PR8!!!)
    • Forbes.com (from PR7 to PR5, now PR4)
    • SFGate.com (from PR7 to PR5, now PR5))
    • searchenginejournal.com (from PR7 to PR4, now PR7)

    Others are still down:
    • seroundtable.com (from PR7 to PR4, now still PR4)
    • blogherald.com (from PR6 to PR4, still PR4)

Have I missed something or have others tracked this also...

    K

BTW: Although My PRs did not change, my SERP and $$$s are still waaay down

If there was a way in which we could have some statistical data, about the number of sites that have increased and decreased im sure the proportions would be similar to other PR updates.

Next one won't be until April. There shouldn't be another delay like there was Q3 this year, because google shouldn't have to modify there entire algorithim once again. Should be on time. Hopefully.

Anyway why so much focus on PR everyone since advertising space is so cheap in the buy/sell/trade sub-forum. Also even though some of my sites have decreased in PR there SERP has improved. ??

"If there was a way in which we could have some statistical data..." There is a survey of DP forum members at the top of this page:

View Poll Results: How was your site effected by the Google PR update?
My pagerank has increased 264 30.91%
My pagerank has dropped 230 26.93%
My pagerank has remained the same 360 42.15%

I went from PR0 (had switched to new domain) to PR3. I really want to be a PR5 so that's my goal for the next update - I've got to get to work, huh?! :)

serious PR for my sites in the last months. The new once got a bigger PR then the old once.. G PR is very strange.. i don`t think it will be so much important in the future, the only thing that will count will be the SERPs.

I agree with what you are saying mostly. The recent PR update has showed no-value to old sites. But has rewarded new sites. Which is weird and to me makes next to no sense at all.

    :)

Just continued work. Many people think its a lot harder to go from PR3 to PR5 than it is from PR0 to PR2. But i have experienced quite the opposite. I think that a lot of hard work is needed from PR5 onwards. Up to PR5 you can pretty much bludge your way there with a few big links. E.G Jayde, DMOZ.
