can u give information about your servers? server details, server location etc???
5 gb space and 250 gb host is 3.99$ at godaddy.
if ur servers quality it is a good rate.

If you want to start web hosting business, you should read about top web host like hostgator, blue host etc then make up your mind. Only one way you could be successful in this business i.e if you will provide reliable hosting service to customers. Because reliability is the key to be a successful webhost. And for this you should use Linux Server.

Are you going to have your own in house servers or going the reseller route?

You probably want to go the reseller route.

It would be a good idea to look at the costs of the competitors around you and then judge from there.

With web hosting there are various ways you can go about your offerings. You can offer large amounts of resources and focus on that as your marketing point. Or you can go the route of lower offerings but offer higher quality of service. So better support response times, less issues with servers ect.

Also with web hosting like any business you need a business plan and need to be prepared to have losses at the start. Otherwise you're just going to end up like the majority of posters in the hosting forum on digital point who close down every few months.

To me it seems a great rate. Host isn't over selling, and you are more likely to get what you pay for.

    I don't think it's expensive at all.

But here's maybe a better suggestion up your price a bit and offer more. Gateway fee's on low amount transactions are insane. You'd be looking at a lot of your payments not even coming to you with $3/month or $2/month payments.

    So say maybe do
    $6/month
    7GB
    70GB

    for example

Its a good rate.... but I suggest you to dont go for that.... never choose a cheap reseller they are not reliable your clients will curse you... better go for big company like hostgator... or u can try wingsix they are cheaper than hostgator and offers good service.... I have used both.......

    I prefer :

    5GB space
    minimum 100GB bandwidth if not 300 GB bandwidth ( you need Bandwidth ... 500 , 1000 e.t.c)

Why ? i writed in my first blog, a new blog ...take a look at the free hosting companies ? 5GB and 300GB Bandwidth for free ... so , is hard ...http://eusko.org/free-web-hosting/

When you can offer more than a free host then make a business ... my opinion , take a look at startlogic - first year for 35.5 $ for :

    300 GB space
    3,000 GB Bandwidth + free domain ( 2.95$ month )

I know many webhost which offer high space and bandwidth like that. LOL. If you prefer many space and bandwidth, then go for it. But if you prefer for good service, space, bandwidth and price, i think i can.

    Hello all,

Im Edward Tobia, the owner of TobiaHost.com :)

I started the business in January 2007.

We started off as a small free web host using a reseller account...

Some of our free users then had interest in our paid accounts and moved over to them which started to gain us some profit.

Once we earned a good profit we then moved over to Dual Core servers :)

Now we offer Web Hosting, Reseller Hosting, Game Servers (Only SA-MP atm) and VOIP Servers (Teamspeak for now)...

We did although get hacked a few weeks back which caused us to lose a lot of money, so were picking ourselves back up slowly but were getting there.

I just recommend that you make sure that when you get a server its highly secured...
