God is absolutely tied to faith. As God's time is a second to a thousand years of our time, people relate everything to natural progression. . . . But just think, our geology, God has been around for all of that and watched it evolve by his hands and will. Everything is mathematically too perfect to have happened haphazardly. Yes, I do believe in God. My life has been a work in progress and through every bump in my life I have learned. These bumps have taught me how to live a better more fulfulling life. Unless you turn your spirit over to God and are sincere, this is something you will never realize or feel.

I may have gotten slightly off the path, but God is in everything we touch, hear, see and on and on. You only need to be open to him.

    The hell?

A thread about God's existance? What's all the fuss about. Let's just ask God!

    ... oh yeah.

I'm a bit late to this thread and don't have the time to read all 21 pages but no, I don't believe in God. Not at all.

I'm completely open to conversion but since belief rests on faith alone I doubt I ever will.

    True story.

Once upon a time... I spent many weeks on the atheist chat room on efnet. One night I realized that God did not exist. I got on my knees and prayed.

Amazing what sin does when it enters the world...

Imagine this. You create a being to walk with you in a garden. You give this being all the desires of his heart, everything he can possibly want, but lay down one rule. "Out of all those thousands of trees out there, please, just leave that one alone". You know that if he disobeys you, he will no longer be perfect, and will not be able to be in your presence anymore.
But this being, who you gave everything to... does it anyways.
This being becomes tainted by sin. He cannot be in your presence anymore.

You bless his descendants who still talk to you, albeit on a much less personal level. You even try establishing a nation out of these people, only to find them turn there back on you and outright deny you, pretending that a carved image made by their own hands created them.

You send messengers (prophets) to try to get them back to you. These prove slightly effective, but the beings you created won't listen.

You see the world they live in now, with sin, full of despair, sadness, depression... you decide to send your own son to save them.

    They crucify him.

We ask why does God allow suffering in this world?
The real question is why did we allow suffering into this world?
And moreover, why do we continue to accept it, and continue thumbing our nose at the One who created us?

Needless to say, with regards to the title of this thread... I believe in God.

    Absolutely - God exists.

I believe. I may not be able to prove it, but just look at the vast, beautiful Universe. Who else could do it, except the architect of the Universe - God.

All speculation as to the nature of "God" is going to ultimately lead to a paradox. I think this is one reason why the "Big Three" made sure to keep the clause about making idols and the like. They wanted people to NOT try to understand the true nature of "God" because when they think they have it right they tend to attack anyone who disagrees. All the questions about why does "God" kill old ladies and the family pet is a somewhat infantile approach to "God" as if we have any real understanding of such a beings thought process or how that being values the lives of other things. We are just not smart enough to even guess as to the nature of "God" unless you think "God" is just a god. If that is your view then you can make that paradigm into whatever fits based on your "faith" and no one can really debate it since its your world view.

IF "God" is all-powerful and all-knowing as well perhaps as being all-present then "God" would not need to be the creator because that implies "God" is only useful in light of the idea of Creation. That seems pretty small minded view of "God" to me and a pretty small minded view if Creation perhaps as well.

IF their are multiple dimensions (and math seems to say there are) then it is possible to imagine a "being" that exists in all dimensions but at the same time expands beyond them, making that being in the universe (using universe in its broadest meaning here" and yet also beyond it therefore existing in its own dimension alone as well as existing in every other dimension. It seems possible to me.

To say that "God" does not exist because there is no "proof" is not scientific btw. Scientific thought would more readily say "we can not know for sure until we have more information, which will be a while since we don't have the tools on hand to preform that sort of experiment."

The same applies to the idea of the universe itself in a lot of ways. How can we truly call anything the universe when the idea of "all-things" cannot be fully measured by us? We have not explored or catalogued all-things and so in many ways the universe itself is still a hypothetical concept we are trying to fill in the details for.

Again your looking at this all through a narrow point of view. If god fixed the whole world for us what will we learn? Will we learn compassion, empathy, compassion, standing up for the truth? Now i ask you and any person what have u contributed to lessen these stats? God gave you 2 arms, 2 legs, a good mind and a strong body.
Do you suffer and cry when someone needs food in this world?

Do you also understand the definition of free will? this world is a test on how much we will learn to love each other. If god just snapped his fingers and made everything perfect why should we even be on this earth? We would be in heaven. Life is a test, instead of blaming god for our problems why dont we come together as people and give to each other and help fix them.

I do believe in GOD and I feel that it's insane to not believe that the nature made everything alone !

I believe that there is only one God and Mohamed is the prophet of Allah !
