I'm actually someone who's been scammed but I don't think a Digital Point escrow service is feasible. After getting scammed, people should be able to change their iTrader rating to negative, or at least get the scammer banned; so that it does not happen to another member.

Well it is a good idea, and would help keep some scammers away.

just how are you going to do that with itrader? most of you wont leave a neg for fear of getting one back as it is, how can you judge who is right and who is wrong in a deal you never took part in? mods can not and will no accept the word of one person over another.

when you deal in yahoo, WTF has that got to do with DP? if people are dealing via pm, then there is no record of a deal that mods can look at.

the only way a deal can be safe is if you deal in the open forums and mods can read all that has been said, but then whats to stop you editing the posts 2 minutes before the 8 hours are up and changing the itrader?

how would it help? please explain this to me, because i really would love to know, a fucking brain transplant wouldn't help some of the idiots that have been scammed on DP.

look at DP it's the size of a medium sized town and only has 5 active mods and only for 16 hours of the day.

people are being scammed because they are to lazy to do a thorough check on the person they are dealing with at the time.

Sure :) While using an escrow service the person receiving the money must verify their account, before actually receiving the money, thus some scammers would back off.

While the other 80%+ would find their way around the forest, by using a VCC or some other bs.

how about the people falling for scams, get an education?

like new 2 day account, 4 posts, dealing in money exchanges and no itrader. how many do you think would deal?

The guy I was scammed by used a phished Paypal account to send the funds from. Obviously, an escrow service would not work at all.

I respect the intentions of the forum but when you give an option for marketplace why not make it secure, and its not the intentions which are at stake its the need of the hour for the service.

and to overcome the cost and the headache you can keep a small fee for it. the service can be an option if the amount is big, or if you can't figure out if the person is true. that way you filter out all the $10 $20 trading.

@ samantha, its not others stupidity or education, when the person dealing with is on DP for last 1 year and with good itrader, there are very high chances that he will get what he wants.

you can not tell me that a member with a year old account, has no idea that asking for an exchange rate of 20% is laughable
