Hi, I know they've been beta testing this for a lil while but I think they've just released it network wide. learn more about video units Can anyone share their experience with the video ads? I just set mine up yesterday. The earnings do not look promising yet. Only a couple a clicks and a few cents. It is still early and I am going to see how well it does over the next month. I wish you could select a specific video and they played video ads before it. That way every time somebody watched it you would make $. I think that is where they are going and will get there eventually.
I'v had it up for 2 days, NO clicks - a ton of impressions..... not worth my time adding it so far. Hopefully that is where they are going with this - else it's another thing in my account I don't use!
Yeah, this would be amazing if it could be intergrated with their API so you can call on specific videos or search terms on the fly to setup the videos. I think the targeting on the videos are pretty bad, sometimes completely unrelated videos show up even though you input the keyword suggestions.
Its great if you own a site that embeds you tube videos, then you can add that into the youtube video, its just extra cash right I for one love this, will help alot with sites i own that i embed videos! Tyler
True but what happens it you have hundreds of videos to change? I mean apparently you have to add each unit through your adsense account. I wish there was a better way of updating content pages and also improving targeting for ads.
these video units came out weeks ago, they were garbage from the git-go. the biggest problem by far is that there isn't hardly any content for most of the niches, because youtube is so stupid about signing up new content partners... i think that it takes an act of congress to become a youtube partner?
google has been on a real losing streak lately when it comes to creating things that make money. you can also find clickable adsense text ads playing within the video window at revver.com, it's the exact same thing, but the payout for revver affiliates is something like only 20%? pretty dismal, but if you can find content for your niche, it might be worth checking out. are you set up for site-targeted contextual ads? stick an adsense ad block next to one of these youtube videos, enable image ads in it, and see if you can bring in some site-targeted cpm, or even site-targeted contextual ads.
I would have to agree, I mean all the efforts are somewhat in a good direction but none of the implementation is being excuted successfully. Its really sad, and I hope they can bounce back. They're sitting on too much money to loooose like this.
