CTR in thousands...is it ok?

Does the CTR really matter? Does CJ even care what your stats are?

Of course they care. They will actually ban your account if the clicks are not unique. Let's hope that you aren't running a incentive site without marking your site as such in their control panel thing. I've been kicked out after earning $3,000 from some program I signed up for. It was a cost per click, and when it happened, they voided my earnings, gave me no help in figuring out what I could do, and said I could sign up again on a different email. I did, earned $100 dollars, took the code off the site, and was banned again. I've given up with them. My other networks work just fine, clicks are about the same. I guess I won't be advertising tech products on my tech blog anymore. *grrrr*

I've been with CJ for over a year now and I have always had a high percentage CTR in the thousands.

I used emails, but I did not set my link with 'for use in email'.:(

I think they might have figured that out, that I don't know what I'm doing.

I hope I don't get banned...wouldn't want to lose my current earnings.

They do care but if they send you an email asking then just explain what you are doing for them to be like that, and be honest about it.

If you are using a link to set the cookie but not using the banner then the clicks will show up but with no impressions, unless it is against the programs TOS then you should be ok. Same if you are using the link but using your own banner that you have designed, again check with thier TOS about using your own banners.

Nobody cares about CTR, since you don't have to use a link that tracks impressions. Conversion rate (Clicks to sales) they do care about.

I think you're probably using text links and those probably don't show up as impressions, and therefore all you see is clicks.

What the fudge sticks. If you do ppc of course they care bout impressions. You cant have clicks without impressions. That will just show you haev been cliking your own ads or someone has clikced the ad many times. This is why CJ is banning these ppl...

No, if you do PPC direct to a merchant, you never display their banner. Keyword links don't even have a tracking image.

And CJ doesn't care if you click your own ads, unless you're with one of the 2 (maybe?) CPC related programs on CJ. You don't make money from clicking your own ads.

First of all you should try to clear things with CJ.com as all matters is your Account in CJ . If it gets banned then what will happen

I started looking into this and if I hadn't read this thread I would have ended up using a regular link that cj provides. But there are some affiliates that provide you with a direct link (keyword link)to the landing page, PLUS gives you info on what you should or shouldn't say in your PPC program.

I work with a few merchants on CJ, and we know that people run PPC or some pages without impression tracking. CTRs over 100% don't bother us, we generally don't even pay attention to impressions or CTR... they're mostly useless the way most top affiliates promote programs these days.

The only time we pay attention to impressions or CTR are sites that show a huge amount (hundred thousands or millions) of impressions but have few sales or low CTRs - we'll usually look into better placement or promotion opportunities for these affiliates.
