Just to clarify something, too. SB, I appreciate your thoughts in the rep, and of course I don't mind. The thought is a thought of compassion, and there is nothing but good in wanting such a thing. I regret I leapt to an obviously incorrect assumption regarding the rep. Now, will the "idiot-neg repper" please step forward? I'd like to congratulate the true poster.
Thanks Northpoint, I very seldom use the rep system, and ive never sent a neg rep that wasn't warranted. I believe ive only sent out two, and they were due to bad buy/sell/trade experiences
Dearie me....do you ever show any traits of Jesus? You are a follower of Christ aren't you? You claim to be, but you appear to be acting like those who were not accepting him, rebuking him and accusing him....hmmmm...seems all too familiar. Keep up with your cherry-picking (to quote another DP member's phrase) and enjoy your ride on the merry-go-round you are on. I'll keep learning and teaching other's what I am learning. CYA!
You are right in guessing I'm trying to be a follower of Christ. A follower of Jesus Christ CANNOT be a Watchtowerite. PERIOD
That's a mighty big claim you are making there. Have the evidence to back that up by chance? You would'nt by any chance be "judging" others would you? Matthew 7:1-2 would be worth reading and meditating on in this situation.
I feel sorry for you that after believing all you wanted, all through your life, you are not going to not even know that you were wrong. After death there is nothing. So you will not even know that there is no heaven, no hell, none of that stuff. I feel sorry for you about that.
What you said contradicts the teachings of the greatest man that ever lived (Jesus Christ). Based on what you said I now have a choice: reject what He said and accept what YOU said. Why would I do that?
It is your opinion and many others he is the greatest man that ever lived, read below about how many different Messiahs existed through out history. Just like how Google became the top search engine over all others Jesus did the same thing in history. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Messiah http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Messiah#Other_Messiahs
Not that I am expecting you to "convert" considering that ALL your thoughts are influenced by the Watchtower (which BTW does not have its base in a Biblical city but in a totally unbiblical city) but here's a little clip. Notice that I am quoting from the Watchtower (italics): ""From time to time, there have arisen from among the ranks of Jehovah's people those, who, like the original Satan, have adopted an independent, faultfinding attitude...They say that it is sufficient to read the Bible exclusively, either alone or in small groups at home. But, strangely, through such ‘Bible reading,' they have reverted right back to the apostate doctrines that commentaries by Christendom's clergy were teaching 100 years ago..." The Watchtower, August 15, 1981. Did you get that? If you read the Bible by itself, you will become a Trinitarian because that is exactly what the Watchtower is referring to here when it says "apostate doctrines." In other words, if you read the Bible alone, you will not arrive at Watchtower doctrines. This is an amazing admission by the Watchtower organization. It is clear, Jehovah's Witnesses do not get their teachings from the Bible, but from the Watchtower literature. Therefore, Jehovah's Witnesses are Really Watchtowerites For more reading you can click here http://www.carm.org/jw/watchtowerites.htm
That article is clearly highlighting an "independent attitude". Meaning these ones are not following the scriptural advice from Paul and others to "gather together". Why? To "incite to love and fine works, not forsaking the gathering of ourselves together, as some have the custom, but encouraging one another, and all the more so as YOU behold the day drawing near." (Hebrews 10:24-25) Just keep cherry picking my friend and keep attacking and keep judging. God knows what is in my heart and it would seem he knows what is in yours going by your words. It will all come out in the wash soon when...what does it say in Ezekiel 38:23? "And I shall certainly magnify myself and sanctify myself and make myself known before the eyes of many nations; and they will have to know that I am Jehovah". People are already making their decisions. Others are yet to make their decision. Would I be wrong by saying you have already made yours? You believe you are doing all things according to God's will according to the scriptures? Well, you might just be saying that. That is entirely up to you and you are entitled to make your stand in this manner. However, I also have made my stand. I believe Jehovah is the true God as it says so in the Bible many many times. In Matthew 6:9 it says clearly to pray for his name to be "sanctified". Just the same as in Ezekiel 38:23. His will, will be done by those he chooses or draws to him. (James 4:8) I also follow Christ in his footsteps the best I can. (Matthew 24:14, 28:19-20) Call us what you will. It's not going to change the "truth". Because the "truth" has set us free. Jesus said there will be ridiculers. So ridicule me as much as you like. Enjoy it to the full whilst you can.
I think you missed my point. I said nothing about Jesus being the Messiah. What I did say is that he is the greatest that ever lived. This makes me think HIS teachings are the greatest, therefore I will stick with the greatest. I presume this will come accross as arrogant even though that's not the intention. My intention is to explain my logic. If you can find someone greater than Jesus I will then reconsider my position. Point proven Mr. Watchtowerite. I knew I could not get to you and honestly I did not expect to. Based on your explanation it all revolves around a particular organisation which of course there is no conceivable way this organisation could be wrong. You're saying the "truth" has set you free. I guess you could not do anything without the "guidance" of the Watchtower which contradicts the "freedom" you claim to have received. You know when the keeper of the prison asked Paul (Acts 16;30): "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" His answer wasn't: "Quickly go down the road and look for the Kingdom Hall and join the Watchtower ranks." His answer in fact had NOTHING to do with any religious organisation. His answer was: "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house." No religious organisation involvement here. Now, go quickly and consult the Watchtower magazine to get the "real" meaning of this Bible passage. Because without the "light" of the Watchtower you can't get the simple meaning. But just so you know, my issue is not with you but with the Watchtower, the controlling force of your life and millions like you.
Dont feel sorry for me. if im wrong a lived a life of doing the best i could, to be a moral man. If the scriptures are wrong, the moral values are still the best in the world. If i die tomorrow and ive been wrong all along, i will be remembered as a good kind person throughout my life. If you die tomorrow and and your wrong, you will burn for an eternity. I think my choice is indeed the wiser. The fact is, i know im right, i have a one on one with the master and creator of this world. Unfortunately you do not know what thats like, and i doubt you ever will untill you repent. God Bless Google overcomes all because its the best, As is Jesus
Fifty pages! Well done everybody! It's got a bit off-topic now hasn't it? Do we all accept Darwin yet or are there still some doubters?
OK, Lets see... What choices do I have? 1. Darwin's Theory of Evolution 2. Intelligent Design Theory??? Any other choices? I had voted for "No - Don't believe in Evolution" because I've seen "The Privileged Planet"... Go and check it out yourself...
Maybe God's intelligent design included a cool process of humans coming about that we see in evolution?
