Dedicated Servers

I have a large proxy network and have simply had enough of all the various people offering me hosting that lasts about 2 days before I am kicked off for too much bandwidth used. Everyone says to use a dedicated server, however, how does one go about doing this? I was looking at the dedis from Hostgator yet they still don't support proxies (not quite sure why when you're meant to be the only one using it) - could anyone tell me how to go about getting a dedicated server?

    Thanks!

Perform a search on Google for "The Planet." They're the largest dedicated server provider in the US, perhaps in the world. You have a choice of a Linux or Windows Server OS, and it's completely unmanaged by them. If you choose a windows server, you'll have remote desktop access, and SSH if you choose Linux.

Virtual Private Servers or Dedicated is definitely the way to go.

Go with people that know proxies. Not all data centers permit proxies, and you may need help with the server admin side. I have used intekhosting before and had no problems there.

if you tried to use hostgator for dedicated servers, this means you do not know much about dedicated servers. You should take a managed one.You can check out layeredtech if they have managed dedicated servers.I ve been using them for 2-3 years and i have over 4 servers there.

I personally think The Planet is too expensive. There are equally good hosting companies out there which offer the same, if not more, services for cheaper rates.

For proxies I'd personally go with either Servint.net or SoftLayer.com

ServInt is my favorite, but it's a bit more expensive (Really reliable though). Soft Layer is cheaper, but you'll need some more technical knowledge.
