I'd take the $50 and run, it's not worth alot. There's plently of name hacks availiable for registration like amily.name to create f.amily.name or unny.name to make f.unny.name and the list goes on and on.

 

Since you are asking for an appraisal, I think its only worth reg fee - mid xx IMHO .. its not that good a hack for several reasons ..
like sweetfunny said, if I were you, I would readily accept 50$ offer

Thank you everyone for your appraisals, I really do appreciate your time and effort in reviewing the domain.

This domain has much more personal and branding value to me than a mere $50.

I was just interested in what everyone thinks about the name, I wasn't looking to sell it. I'd still love to hear what anyone else thinks about it!

This isnt really a domain hack. You just bought ick.name, and made a sub domain called n.

 

That is a domain hack... just like del.icio.us

 

If you click the button on your original post and ask it to be moved to appraisals is the best way, as they may not just stumble across the thread.

It may have personal value, but not market value. As i showed before there's dozens of hacks availiable for reg fee in the .name extension. Also the site has limited development potential, it will be difficult to develop a site around "nicname" to generate any revenue.

So as it stands for the name only reg fee, if you do in fact brand and develop it in to something very popular obviously this will change.

Thanks SweetFunny for your insight. The fact that this domain doesn't have a booming market value doesn't bother me at all. I love the name (it's "Nickname" not "Nicname"), and it gives me great pleasure to own it - which I think is what domaining should really be about.

If anyone else has any thoughts/appraisals about this name, I'd love to hear them!

 

I think that the $50.00 is decent for it undeveloped. If you developed it well (see my list of subdomains above ) you could make ten times that.

 

I forgot to thank you for that list! I'll most likely end up adding those on (in addition to a few others), and renting out the subdomains to the right bidders (I've already accumulated some interest in a few domainers).
