Is not like playing the lottery. Anyone can make money online as long as they can find a way. Its basically the same as asking "can anyone start a local business". Obviously you can if you obtain enough skills.
I believe any one can make money online. Even if it's just plainly joining one of those free survey sites that you hear about ... ANYONE can make money online. I didn't believe that I would really recieve money, but after my first check for about $17 came in the mail... then I was hooked. And I now personally recieve monthly checks from the survey sites that I am associated with.
Everyone can, some just may find it easier than others, all you need is research research research, then finally at the end of all that which could take 1 week or 10 years, you may hit a niche or an idea or perhaps through all the research you have done, you can sell your knowledge, the internet is completey free, by this i mean there are so many things not done yet, so many ideas not taken advantage of. It's like asking "Can anyone make money in __________?" The answer is, as always, if you put the effort it, you can.
If you set reasonable goals and work towards them, anything is possible. If you set yourself up for failure with unrealistic goals, you will get frustrated, give up and lose out. Set a small goal and do it well. Then add to it when you are comfortable. There's no rule that you have to win overnight. Business is alot about being in the right place at the right time with the right motivation and resources. Statistically speaking, most people will fail in business at least 4 or 5 times before they make it. That stat is certainly true for me. I worked at business for close to 15 years before finding the right formula.
Yes, everybody can make money online. You don't need to have the brain of rocket scientist to make money on the Internet. But you need to have the right mindset, knowledge on what you're going to do, combine with the right tools and the most important thing.... take ACTION!! It doesn't matter if you have the best ideas in this world, if you don't put it into action, it will be useless.
The irony is that people don't take "action" and try things because they are afraid of failure. The truth is, you will fail while trying many times. Learning from those failures is the secret to success.

Think of it like college. You get to learn a lot for a short period of time, and then you can focus more on making money when you have learned the basics. Only difference is you have to pay large ammounts of money for a little bit of knowledge in college. Online you can pay a little bit of money and get much much more knowledge and make money along the way. Hard work.... It's not a get rich quick scheme it's a business and you need to treat it like one. Create a plan and follow it. It's real easy to get side tract kind of like I'm writing this rather than creating that last page thats gonna tie up the other 50 I made this week. Once you start making even a little you will realize what worked for you and what doesn't. Just remember you have to put in the time. My girl leaves the house at around 9:30 and when she gets home at 7:00 I'm still right there plugging away. Thats the key hard work
Definitely lots of hard work and experience with lots of set backs. I tried it all AdSense, MFA, Affiliate Marketing, Web 2.0, Social Bookmarks, Article Marketing, Bum Marketing etc Also lost a lot of money siging up left right and centre for the next big thing. So BestOfWorks was right in that Department sucess is learning from failures. But, WORST set back was when I got the AdSense Google Ban. After 2 years, I had built my AdSense up to $100pm, but then got banned because someone had hacked into one of the MFA sites Tell ya that was a HUGE set back, all that money gone down the drain. So, one thing I learnt, don't put all your eggs into AdSense. There you are just made or SAVED you some money Anyhow, agree with everyone here saying that it's possible to make money but it's lots of dedicated hard work. Best of Luck
