you dont? big mistake. you should always channel your stuff so you know what earns what. i cant even think about not having em. ide go crazy lol
I use descriptive channels... Like: SiteName - Left Banner - Size It's interesting knowing which places generate clicks and which ones dont...
I run multiple sites so yes, it helps me to know where my traffic comes from and how much they earn. Also if I can improve on them. If you run 3 ads per page (say on a blog) then you can also track which ads get the most clicks. Its a great tool and I always use it.
Yes, I am a nut for not doing it. It's never too late I suppose. Is it easy to channel a site vs the ad units?
I do the same. The ones that make little money get knocked off. I always start out with 3 ad units but end up with 1-2 since 1 always gets kicked off for not making enough.
channels rock to see if the placement of your ads is optimal and to check which of your ads makes the most $ - so i use them
I think post is adsense newbie when i saw the thread. when i only a few web page ago, i did't use channel too.
Oh yeah, channels are definitely a great feature. Don't ignore them! Especially the custom ones. You can see the individual performance for every ad unit on your pages. Custom channels are really, really helpful when you're trying to figure out where to place ads as well as what type of ad units to place.
I use channels for each site I have. Using a channel per banner would be just cluttery and confusing.
If you have so many mini-site, you don't have the time to improve them, why bother with channel? I used to use it, but now it is too busy to use it.
