$40 - Blog Header/Logo Design

I am starting up a search blog but want it to be memorable and the look of the site is an important factor so I need a header made.

It will go on this site in place of the top image.

It needs to be 768 x 220 pixels and I would like it in either .gif or .png

I would like it to look cartoon-like with a yellow spunge (which may or may not be a cartoon character it's up to you), the words Search Sponge and the tagline "soaking up the search industry". Apart from that I dont know what i want it to look like so you have some freedom in your designs.

The winner will get $40 paid via Paypal and the contest will run until I find a design I like (but hopefully 3 days maximum).

My favourite of your 4 webmasterplace is the 3rd one.

I'm not sure about the font for the tagline, and it's a little disjointed...just to link it all together a bit better maybe the tagline should be a variation on the main text colours.

Can we drop the shadow below spongebob? I'll have to think about whether it's even legal to use that image...where did you get it from if you don't mind me asking?

Ok, I'll change the font and try you use the same effect as the main text.
I have found the image with Google. I'll remove the shadow.
I'll submit the new version within a few hours.

 

NsaneNoob: I do like this concept and your cartoon sponge is definitely along the lines that I am looking for. I would like the "Search Sponge" text a bit smaller so that the tagline can be added.

mmkrulz: Your design is a bit simplistic and doesn't really meet my eye-catching needs. Any chance you could make a cartoon-like sponge and try again?

webmasterplace: I wouldn't want to risk any copyright/trademark infringements by using Spongebob. Do you reckon you could design a cartoon sponge yourself?

 

Here is the new version with new tagline style. I've used the same style as the head text, but used some darker colors. I hope you like this one more

shibilgd: I quite like your sponge character, not totally sure about the blue background....the slight 3D effect on the lettering is very nice.

webmasterplace: Out of your latest 3, the first one is my prefered one but I don't think the scary sponge is quite what I'm after - I would like to see a happy sponge (as strange as that sounds as I type it!)

Ariestoteles: Very nice concept with the sponge and the binoculars. As a slight variation I would like to see the character slightly larger with the text just a little more to the right of the sponge as it seems a little squashed together.

neilparnham: I do quite like the clouded background, it's unique among the entries so far. I would drop the magnifying glass as it seems surplus to requirements and I have to say the sponges with arms and legs are in my favour so something along those lines for a character would be great.
