Hey all, I just launched my Platinum Proxy Guide, which tells how I make over $700 Profit per month with proxies. If anyone is interested here is the thread. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=576267 MAtt
If anyone can help me setup glype popups on proxy pages that would be helpful. I have done it before but I forgot how.
Easiest method is to add the code to the mini-form (unless you've changed it to give the user the choice of displaying the form or not). Just open up /templates/framedForm.inc.php and add in the relevant HTML wherever you want (after the </div> would be fine). Alternatively you could do it by appending or prepending it to the HTML via the parser. You'd need to edit browse.php and modify the $fetch->return variable in the HTML parsing section for that though. And for anyone interested, there was a major bug in the glype proxy 0.4 betas that caused all gzipped pages to render very slowly. This has now been fixed for the RC1, which is now available.
I still like using 0.3 0.4 just doesn't work as well with myspace/facebook I will wait for a stable release. THANKS FOR THE HELP RODNEY I remember doing that before =) I must be really tired.
You are the owner/maker of glype I presume? If so, why did you have to screw everyone over by disallowing redistribution of your proxy script along with templates? Yes, I know you have better system for templating, but users are used to downloading the template and having it work from the get go, not having to download another script from a different website at all. There is just no user-centered way of distributing proxy templates for your script.
Does anyone know how to remove checkboxes from phproxy? You can see the issues here: www.facealite.com Still tinkering with the rest of the site
Hi, regarding adbrite code, I have read freeproxytemplates on adding adbrite codes... you have to search for this . Now it says put the code between So... do I put the adbrite code here or Thanks for the help everyone, just starting to learn everything about proxies...
Just noticed i have the option to add Google VIDEO units in adsense options Has anyone added a video unit to their proxies yet? Would like to know estimated click value for these new units etc ................. A Youtube video on the homepage of a proxy will get some proxy users a little excited especially if the proxy has a youtube mod! Downside bandwidth usage will go through the roof, but willing to give it a try..lol Any help, people tried this yet, or have i just gave away a little gem?
You seem to have answered your own question there. A limitation of PHProxy is no reason for me to deliberately structure my own script poorly, even if that is what users are used to. If you setup your proxy and configure it just how you want it, it makes no sense to overwrite everything just to change the design. With Glype you can switch between any number of different themes in a matter of seconds without affecting anything other than the appearance of the site, and allowing you to experiment with different layouts for the best CTR with minimal effort. Aside from that, there’s also the relative frequency of new releases that makes the whole idea of distribution of templates packaged with the script even more ridiculous. No proxy script is perfect and unlike others, mine hasn't been abandoned. In the last 2 months I released two versions of the script each month (including betas). The theme system allows a theme created for any version of the script to be compatible with any other version: past, current and future. If you package your template with a specific version of the script, in less than a month you’ll be distributing an outdated version and limiting the market for your template. And in the end, we all lose. I agree, it may be a little less convenient for the people looking at proxies as nothing more than a "get rich quick, no effort required" scheme but for anyone remotely serious about running their own proxy, it makes a lot more sense to keep things separate. But really, all of what I’ve said is common sense and I guess the real reason people aren’t too keen on having themes separate is that it makes it ever so slightly more difficult to exploit and profit from my work, which is a shame really.
I'd agree with this. When you download a template for Joomla or phpbb you wouldn’t expect the full script to come along with it. The script and the template and made and supported by 2 separate people, why should they be combined? TBH, if proxy owners cant be bothered to install a template themselves then that’s their loss. And why would you want your proxy to look identical to 5 million other proxies already listed in google?
i want to try this proxy thingie So who does want to share their proxy hosting with me for a few bucks, i can pay only with moneybookers.
see this 100% uptime hosting that i have http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=560864 thanks
And how would you recommend distributing templates for your script? It is NOT good practice to distribute a complex instal.txt file with every template, so I think the best way to do this would be to point the download link to your template page (on your website) and have you list the template there...
seems that phproxy's website no longer offers the script for download... anyone know where i can download it? whitefyre no longer has it
