Hi, I'm totally computer stupid. I have no idea what all this stuff is. I thought if I read enough, I could figure it out but I can't. I'm really lost. I'd really like to do some things to make some money. I just found out about parking but don't know anything about it. Where do I start? Godaddy has a thing for it but is it the right one? I don't understand any of the lingo at all. I'm so confused. What is a proxy? What other ways are there to making money? Can anyone help explain any of this to me? My family is completely broke and I need ways to make some fast cash. I wish I knew how to do this stuff! Thanks in advance to anyone who responds!!!!
See... you can do the following... 1. Sign up for a adsense account... 2. setup a blog 3. place your adsense on it 4. update your blog regularly and you can easily start making money... hope it helps...
A proxy is a website which allows people to browse the internet through this website. People use it because schools, colleges, businesses block access to popular websites. These websites unblock them and allow people go browse. At least in theory. Proxy owners make money through advertising: people come to your proxy site and sometimes click on your google ads. Everytime this happens you get a few cents. If you have many visitors you usually get more clicks and if you have more proxies you get even more clicks in total. Read more here I hope this helps!
Hah, love the name BTW. Making money "quickly" and "easily" online isn't really an accurate statement. Explaining yourself as a total noob to computer/internet language, it makes it all that much more difficult. Where to start.... You can basically choose from the following being relatively computer stupid. A blog A proxy A directory I'm sure you have heard of a blog - If you are a decent writer, or have something to say; you can make a blog and be somewhat successful (WITH TIME AND PATIENCE) there is no such thing as a blog where in a week you can be turning actual money with no marketing budget or experience. Search the forum for information on blogs, its really REALLY late, and I don't feel like explaining it much more. Directories - Directories are very commonly used for SEO (search engine optimization) to increase ones site listings in search engines by using organic links. Directories, once established, can charge money (0.50 to $3) for each link listed in the directories, along side of that you have affiliate ads and adsense to pick up a bit more. Directories are VERY COMPETITIVE AND DIFFICULT TO GET GOING, like blogs, it takes time, commitment, time and some more stuff. Again read the forum - too tired to explain. download some phpproxy script - available free on internet.. google it.. Follow the instructions and you are on.
What do I do with it? How many domains do I need? Where's the best place to register them? Do I have to have the domains hosted? Sorry, I know these are a lot of questions all at once!
Setting up a proxy is not difficult. Most scripts have a read me file in the zip you download. You will need hosting that allows proxies. You'll also need to apply for adsense (best to do this by getting a blogspot blog and then applying for adsense on that) Let me know if you need more help

Not to discourage you, but if you are in a real hurry to make $, you most likely will make more mistakes. Take it easy a bit (you sound stressed); start with a proxy (on DP you can find cheap proxy hosts), start a blog (you can do that for free on blogger or some other free blogging host) and in the meanwhile, make online money by doing pay-per-task or pay-for-time work; http://mashable.com/2007/07/30/make-money-online/ A lot of these make some simple income and keep you afloat during the times your proxies, blogs or other ideas are not yet making $ (and usually, as in proxies, costing $). When you are making some $, start building your business; check DP (this forum or Digitalpoint.com for good ideas to build profitable niche sites and try to build / market them. When you have a bit more $, even buy one or two. But this is a 3-year minimum plan (http://www.cimples.com/2007/07/06/be-persistent-the-3-year-run/), so take one step at a time. In the end you will be an internet guru
Kwaku's advice is very wise. One step at a time and do not try to do everything simultaneously. My advice to to either try with a blog OR a proxy. Blogs take time to become popular. You need to write quality content regularly and be patient. A few people eventually make it and have a decent income from that. A blogpost blog is a free blog offered by google. Just go to blogspot.com , register and you have a blog. Proxies are easier to play with. They'll start bringing money from the first few days once you have advertised it.
It looks like you are in a bad way mate. Try to calm down. The internet is not a tree where you can just pluck the money out. It takes time and lots of patience and tons of hard work and passion. Passion is the most important thing. If you are computer stupid I don't recommend proxy. To market proxy you require basic knowledge. I suggest going to blogspot.com and creating a blog and just keep posting unique content and to update it frequently and posting it to many blog directories. After a few weeks when your blog has a decent amount of content on it, add adsense to it wait. You will make money on the internet and DP is here to give you all the help you need. Thanks to everyone who responded!!! At the time I first posted I was really stressed and frantic. You know when you're broke, have bills, etc., it starts to all get to you. I really appreciate everyone being so nice in trying to explain things to a newbie. I have read for hours and understand some things but don't know how or where to start. Thanks for the suggestions and info. As for the comment about advertising, I'm not that stupid, thanks. I found this to be incredibly rude since I'm obviously trying to learn things from people who know. The blog sounds like a good idea, I think I'll start there. Thanks for explaining what blogspot is. You can also write articles here on dp or browse for other WTB (want to buy) or want to hire etc.. and see if you can do any of them. You won't get rich, but you can make cash same day. You could use them as a mini spring board for some cash to invest in the next step. As you read proxies, blogs and image hosts are common ways to make money. Proxies are easy because there is not much content and people want them. Blogs are easy if you find a passion to blog about, and if you can find other people that are passionate about what you are. Image hosts are something people want as well for myspace, etc... Get some quick cash, then invest a little and keep a little. Do a start up site like proxies, blog whatever. then after you have a decent base of a few hundred per month or whatever you after you can invest a little more time in some content based sites, while continuing you other projects on the side.
