Third straight night of New Muslim Riots in France

Violence is worse than during three weeks of rioting that raged around French cities in 2005

"Youths rampaged for a third night in the tough suburbs north of Paris and violence spread to a southern city late Tuesday as police struggled to contain rioters who have burned cars and buildings and — in an ominous turn — shot at officers.

A senior police union official warned that “urban guerrillas” had joined the unrest, saying the violence was worse than during three weeks of rioting that raged around French cities in 2005, when firearms were rarely used."

It's probably America's fault. Just ask a ron paul supporter :D

Is this the second, or third year of this. I remember almost a month of riots by these savages (that some defend and make excuses for) last year.

They definitely have a "pack mob" mentality going.

That was the other muslim riots in the Netherlands and Belguim. I think there were some riots in Hamburg recently.

I guess it's not a good time to go on vacation in France.

That's what happens when you turn immigrants into second class citizens, with no economic opportunities.

Why did you have to bring the label "muslim" to this thread??? Your hatred towards muslims is atonishing.
Never mind these riots have absolutely nothing to do with Islam and are done by immigrants (of arab and african origins) that have suffered racism and been marginalized by french society and a great deal of them are very secular and some are not even muslim (I have lived in France for several years and I know what I am talking about).
So, let's say if people riot in Europe, America or Israel, are you also going to label them christian rioters or jewish rioters.

This is SO sickening. You never miss an occasion to attack, demean muslims.

Just so you are informed. Riots started after 15 and 16 years old kids were killed when they crashed with a police van on a motorcycle....

Nothing to do with religion this one.

Well the racists will always spin it and turn it into something religious. I guess those are the side effects of brainwashing.

    I agree with you ablaye...

Bogart is a fanatic Islamophobiac. He never looses any opportunity to blame Muslims.

Bogart, you have a very narrow viewpoint of the world, just that dumb-ass "with us or against us" mentality. Such behavior sucks man!

There is too much tolerance jihad and sharia ideology. Over last few years, there have been widespread muslim riots in France, Belgium, Denmark and the Netherlands. Germany, Britian and France all have numerous terror cells that lend support and help coordinate muslim rioters.

The current riots are a continuation of Ramadan Rioting of 2005. In the no-go areas it doesn't take much to set off new riots. During Oct 2007 there were widespread muslim riots in Amsterdam.

Here's some quotes from the last muslim riots:

    This is from Sweden:

“‘If we park our car it will be damaged – so we have to go very often in two vehicles, one just to protect the other vehicle,’ said Rolf Landgren, a Malmo police officer. Fear of violence has changed the way police, firemen and emergency workers do their jobs. There are some neighborhoods Swedish ambulance drivers will not go to without a police escort. Angry crowds have threatened them, telling them which patient to take and which ones to leave behind.”

    This is from France:

“Sarkozy says that violence in French suburbs is a daily fact of life. Since the start of the year, 9,000 police cars have been stoned and, each night, 20 to 40 cars are torched.”

    This is from Brussels:

“The police has been told [by the Mayor] that it is ‘not expedient’ to patrol [in the Brussels suburb of Molenbeek] and officers are not allowed to drink coffee or eat a sandwich in the street during ramadan.”

This is from Denmark (and it is hot news relating to the Muhammad cartoons):

“For several nights in a row Rosenhøj Mall has been the scene of the worst riots in Århus for years. ‘This area belongs to us’, the youths proclaimed. [...] ‘The police have to stay away. This is our area. We decide what goes on down here’. [...] Falck, a Danish private emergency service, sent a group of fire engines under police escort to the Kjærslund nursery on Søndervangs Allé, right across the street from Rosenhøj Mall. A window had been shattered at the back of the house, and the fire had been blazing, apparently caused by gasoline poured onto the floor and lit. Falck stopped on Viby Square, a couple of kilometers from the site of the arson attack, waiting for the police to turn up so they could be escorted to the nursery.”

interesting how some in here defend the riots by saying that religion has nothing to do with it, yet those that are rioting are muslims....I don't see anywhere where it says that Christians, Jews, atheiests, or any other religion is involved, just the so called "religion of peace".

I have friends in Paris, and have read all points of view, in French, as to what is going on - I subscribe to Le Figaro and Le Monde, and try to see what French folks themselves are thinking.

First of all, as with all riots, I have no doubt all sorts of fingers are in on the pie - I went to Berkeley, after all. The kids throwing crap at riot police and getting their heads busted in return are usually young, dumb and...never mind. The "intelligentsia" sitting behind barricades fomenting violence are rarely the same ones doing the deed.

Secondly, I honestly believe this has more to do with ex-colonial enclaves inside Paris's suburbs, disaffected youth whose parents are not predisposed to the same methods of venting their grievances. In other words, I think these are disenfranchised, disaffected, charged-up youth turning to violence to express their political rage. I do not excuse them - they are idiots and need to be clamped down upon, summarily. But I see more a generational shift among post-colonials and disaffection than anything else.

No one is defending the riots. We are saying that religion has nothing to do with it except for the bigots.
Remember the LA riots???? The african americans rioting were for the most part christian. Would you have called the LA riots the Christian riots????

I think bogart probably gets orgasms over starting threads like these.

Im not defending these riots, but france treats these people like crap, especially the police and they get the worse houses, education, jobs etc.

These kind of conditions breed anarchy and instability.
