Best FREE forum platform

i love SMF

 

If you have a copy of it, IPB 1.3 is free and some people enjoy the familiar interface.

 

IPB 1.3 is a really bad choice as there are known exploits that are not patched. The site is fodder for a hacker attack.

 

MyBB is not better than vB. MyBB is basically a mix of vB and IPB.

I've used several different forums as a forum user, a paid poster and a moderator / administrator and although I think vbulletin is the best, as far as the free ones go, SMF is probably the easiest to deal with.

 

I like MyBB - it is not better than vB(better than IPB though), but if you have it, theres no need spending the money on vB, since vB doesn't come with enough more features than MyBB to make it worth $85-$160 - plus you pay for updates.

MyBB is a nice, clean system. SMF is a great software, but it is not overally user friendly, and I loathe phpBB2., though number 3 is ok.

Hi boss this is not a spam i can assure u cant find a better forum than mine.. i have coded it and i dont know how to make people know about it so just posted about it in forum management section of DPF

You can register and check the features of the forum and the best part is that i m the coder and i make custom features as per the requirments.

hope to see you on the list of members... not selling the forum but just want people to know that there a new board out now SIMPLOBOARD.

I think SMF is best 'out of the box' but there are some great mods for phpbb that make it very good if you are willing to take the time to install them. I would play around with both to see which suited the needs of the site best.

 

phpBB is the best forum software for free. But I would recommend paying the licence fee for vBulletin its worth every penny.

 

i have used SMF, phpBB and MyBB, personal choice go to myBB, it is worth a try.

I love mybb. Its better then phpBB in my opinion

 

I think is MyBB because it's very similar to VBulletin and it's very professional for any type of forum

 

I think vanilla is free open source forum platform,Atleast you must take a look at vanilla .
