I agree it must be hard enough for you smart arses carrying around such a heavy, information filled brain all day without having to answer people's silly questions on an internet forum.

We are all hear to learn (Ok, I'm just here to abuse) but most people are here to learn and what's the one thing people have been telling you to do all your life? ''If you don't know - Ask'', so that's all they're doing.

Maybe some people are completely new to the internet and have spent the past 50 years sweeping streets and now want to maker some easy money on the internet.

They are tired, and their hands are weary. They are perhaps from Pakistan or India so their English isn't great, and they don't understand the concept of the search facility.

Maybe their wife is cooking dinner in there tiny mudshack kitchen whilst their 15 children scream and fight with each other as they are too poor to buy toys as daddy sold all their worldly possessions to buy an old Philip's computer.

The the only option that poor man has of ever finding out what MySQL is, or how Google Ad's work is to quickly make a thread and ask more knowledgeable, internet savvy people on an internet forum.

SO, next time you make a thread saying that this forum, which some people use as an online computer guru, has been dumbed down, think about what you're saying because your words sting man, they sting.

See the thread above about buying rep... too many dumbass newbies (no offense to the smart ones, of course :p) asking stupid questions.

Heck, might write an eBook and give it away for free... 'The Key To NOT Getting Banned at Digital Point' :D

I agree with that. I used to post in the SEO section a lot, but I hardly participate anymore.

It's not people asking stupid questions that put me off - we all had to start somewhere. It's people giving out wrong information and passing it off as 'fact'. The trickle of these 24-18 months ago has now turned into a torrent, and made the business sections - particuarly the SEO area very difficult to use. I now got most of my SEO news and discussion in places like Sphinn and SEO blogs.

It's a shame, I strted off here a few years ago and now I find myself using the forums less and less.

It's not just DP getting dumber, I think it's a world wide trend. Must be something in the water;)

Ya, DP has users all across the globe. So, bringing in international users makes DP dumber? That's retarded.

i have made it crystal clear i have no interest in being a mod on DP (it wouldn't happen anyway, because i am to head strong) that would mean i have to work by the sites rules and that would take away the fun i can have with people before they get banned.

i find 100% proof that someone has a dupe account and then i start to have a little fun with them, then i pm Crazy_Rob or the mods (depends if it is within a mods remit, or needs an admin to decide) then poof they are gone. and today it stands at 74 in less than 2 months :D

I think the best way to measure this is to start up a "What is a widget?" thread! :D

There's nothing wrong with a question...as long as it hasn't been answered 4000 times on the forum already. That's all we're saying. Do your best to FIND the answer FIRST before asking. If you can't do that, you're probably not going to make it, anyway.

I'm finding more and more that this whole Internet game is about finding the info, then taking it outside of the box. How is anyone ever gonna do that if they can't grab the simple concept of research? If they found the site, if they registered to use the site, if they figured out how to post, then SURELY they can figure out how to use the search feature.

I can understand the annoyance. However, there are a lot of users who come to DP as TOTAL newbies, and not everyone has the innate desire to research and find stuff out before they post and make an idiot of themselves. Even some people who do research post and look a little stupid -->waxingpoetic

IMHO, the best way to handle these people is to politely suggest to them where to look and see if they are willing to help themselves. Some people are just plain lazy, and would rather someone tell them everything rather than use the brain God gave them.

I have a lot less patience with people who won't help themselves...especially after you head them in the general direction a couple times.

I'd be happy if the thread titles were at least in a proper format :D

I get annoying with threads like.

    "why I can't my adsense"

    What's that even mean ?...lol

LOL this is funny. What is adsense.

One of the members even made a song about DP(now banned):eek:

I want to make "so and so" a day, how? lol

I find poeple often overlook the fact that Google should be the first place to look for a simple answerer to a question like "waht is adsense", whats the first thing that comes up when you type in adsense? lol

People have to look twice at their titles before creating a new subject, thats what usually turns me off.

"What Asnense not showing..." lol wtf
