Did you know you can also run CS2 on Wine. Lots of people do, in my case I still have 7.0 CS3 is still work in progress.
It can run without all the 3'rd party apps that I generally rely on. Even on OSX you run the risk of not being able to use all the third party apps.
1. mac gui rip off 2. waste of system resources 3. too many problems 4. no backwards software capability with xp
haven't tried it, but i here it has issues. However they will eventually work those out and im sure it will be my next upgrade
Not entirely against Vista, though it does have its kinks. I prefer XP though because it manages to load up programs and boot faster. Maybe in the future I'll be willing to use Vista when they fix those issues...
Service Pack 1 still hasn't been released, unfortunately. Once it is, I'll upgrade to vista! I have my upgrade DVD all ready to go.....
CNet rates Vista one of "worst products in history" http://www.digg.com/apple/CNet_rates_Vista_one_of_worst_products_in_history
That's just Cnet being attention whores. It's not like they would be the frsst to make such a claim, although everything they say is so blatantly blown out of proportion. techpr, stop being such a Linux zealot lol
Just got VISTA with my new laptop... Ive never been so dissapointed... I feel like Im back in the days of Windows ME... This brand new powerfull laptop runs slower than anything Ive ever seen! Far too resource intensive!
Your problem is with the hardware not the OS, its 2000 and fu**ing 7 no-one should be buying new hardware with less than 2GB of RAM which vista works fine with. I have Vista on 2 computers and the only problem I have had so far is one print driver not working in my office, I just used a different printer. Simple solution: stop buying budget shit hardware or stick with your old computers
Diablos, did you know programs run faster if you have more CPU time and RAM available for their use? Well, that is so, and therefore you want your programs to have the maximum CPU time and RAM available to them, which a non-resource intensive OS will provide, but Vista may not. The fact is no matter how powerful a computer is you shouldn't compromise efficiency for little or no gain in functionality. I mean I've got Kubuntu 7.10 running with a fancy Compiz GUI on my machine with 1 GB RAM and it's using about 150-200 MB of RAM idling, whereas Vista thinks it's necessary to use 512 MB all the time, even when nothing is running. Basically what people are saying is that Vista's memory usage particularly cannot be justified when there are other examples of OSs putting the memory to much better use.
Microsoft kinda looked too far ahead with Vista imo, you shouldnt make an os for the future and release it now.
I fix computers for my business, and I have to say i really don't like Vista at all. Yes it can be safer in certain instances but not always. I think it runs much slower than XP. I had customer complain to me as to why his brand new computer that i set up for him with Vista on it ran slower than his other computer which is 3 years old. I had to explain that one to him...
