Hello, My main domain is http://www.minterest.com/ I have another URL http://www.world-wide-webmasters.com/ it have a PR of 2... I dont know how that domain got a PR without any content and no backlinks.... so I want to know whether I get any benefit if I redirect http://www.world-wide-webmasters.com/ to http://www.minterest.com/ (also have a PR of 2) using 301 Redirection... Thanks, Minterest
According to Yahoo, 167 links point to world-wide-webmasters.com. Yes, it would make sense to redirect (301) this domain to your main domain. Jean-Luc
When you re-direct your site to another for the PR value, will the original site eventually lose its ranking when it is spidered by Search Engines in future? Thanks Roger
When an "old URL" that is redirected gets spidered by a search engine, it doesn't show any content anymore; it only redirects to the "new URL". A clever search engine will drop the "old URL" and pass all link juice to the "new URL". This doesn't happen overnight though. It can take weeks before the "old URL's" disappear from the SERP's. Yes I do see 128 backlinks but its all from DP... but there is no backlinks according to Google... i didnt checked the webmasters tool though... but still am surprised by this my main domain have 5700+ backlinks and its fully indexed by Google, MSN and Yahoo but that have only PR 2... Strange.... And by the way do you think that world-wide-webmasters.com is worth some money? If I sell...
Google is clever no doubt about that... but I dont have any traffic for world-wide-webmasters.com... and there is no content is in it.... there was 2 articles in that site and I copeied that to mintererest.com...
