I've read this in the past, but I did not believe it until it happened to me. I was almost at my first payout. I had $92 in my adsense account and I got banned. To make it a bit more clear, I am saying that it seems they wait until you are almost at your first payout before banning you. If this happened to you also, I would be interested in hearing about it.
no I neared the payout limit a few months back (when I started using Adsense) and I received my pin code. That's about the most interesting thing Google ever sent me, beside a cheque every so often. You must have clicked your ads, maybe even accidentally. Or did you engage in any reciprocal clicking? Or your site breached the Adsense TOS.
I was banned (unfortunately) at $127, it seems a couple of days in the month someone (former employer) was sabotaging my sites by spamming my adsense code. Tried to explain it to Google a week ago (1 day after the ban was put in place) and haven't heard anything from them. But... they have deleted my adsense account (complete with all revenue)!! Poor form Google!
The reason that so many people report this is, I think, that when you get near to first payout time, it flags a manual review on your account, so they checked you out and determined that you were breaching the rules.
What really makes me mad is that they did not say why they banned me. I did not click on my own ads. I did not do anything against TOS. I had one day where my CTR was over 25% and I even emailed them to see if everything was okay. Next thing I knew, my $92 in adsense revenue was gone.
Jerks, but thats how business works. If they can get you on a technicality their gonna ban you and keep the cash.
Yes you are right! I suspected some funny business going on over there at 1600 Amphitheatre dr. but now your testimony confirms it.
There are thousands of people who use Adsense and have never been banned. The problem is when you decide that maybe you can just bend the rules and Google will not find out. You are no way smarter than Google and they will check your account and sites prior to paying out and payments. This is the point they catch most violators and that is why that is the most common time to get banned. If you followed their rules, you would have had a long relationship with Google.
I really don't think they actually manually check accounts. Can you imagine how many sites they'd have to look at and review each month - I'd expect them to have a team of reviewers working non-stop to do that. I always assume they have millions if not billions of publishers.
hey sorry to hear that mate. i just wann know i had once accidently clicked my ad at the very start. wil i be banned for that.
I don't know but can be a team for every country ... is possible, think how many will earn the first 100$ in Switzerland or Norway ? not so many like in US
I was banned a long time ago at $100. Never did anything fishy or close to it. I knew the rules going in and stuck to them. I think they have a % of people they have to ban, maybe like a quota....honestly who knows. I just know I will never use a financial product from Google becuase of it. They tried recommending adwords to me and I told them it would be a cold day in hell. I refuse to even click on ads from Google no matter how interested. I will manually type the url instead. It's my own personal way of picketting
I don't think there is a quota, you may be just plain unlucky someone click your ads too frequently. For a company as rich as Google, they don't need to cheat over one hundred bucks
Invalid clicks is the major problem ... never ask somebody just... look to much of your ads , not to click them ....
