America's Worst Enemy: The Liberal Media

I saw a bumper sticker today, that read:

And it made me laugh, because even though it's supposed to be an obvious exaggeration, it made me wonder how many people actually believe this. Then I thought about it a bit more; now I'm wondering if it's supposed to be sarcasm instead of an exaggeration, pinning blame on the media for not asking questions in the run-up to the Iraq war?

Anyways, it's been a long day, but what's your take on the slogan? How would you interpret it?

    Stupidity.

America's greatest enemy is corporate media, left or right.

I find Fox too dark and creepy to watch much, but MSNBC and CNN are not a whole lot better. Except for Jack Cafferty. He's a straight shooter.

Sadly, I bet the owner of the car actually believes this. IMO the NeoCons would be better in it's place.

The person who put this on their car is brainwashed, and they don't even realize it. They probably watch fox news religiously, and they may also worship George W. Bush. The person who put this slogan on their car fails to realize that both parties are controlled by global corporations, two sides of the same coin, designed to create controlled opposition to keep the masses dumbed down and enslaved.

Whenever I see someone pointing the finger at a specific party for being America's greatest enemy, I automatically realize that this person has no real clue what goes on in American politics today.

Do you have a prison planet bumper stick on your car? You know, to let people know where the REAL news is?

Lou is ok I guess. I do get tired of him going on and on about immigration.

Look Lou, we get it. Both parties are almost totally corrupt, they love eroding sovereignty and using the taxpayers money to care for illegals (and for foreign aid), and you're so pissed off, you just rant and scream at everyone.

But it's the NAU, you covered it on your show at least twice, and until people give a crap about their country, it's not going to change.

Get it through your blue haired head. People don't care about this country, they care about lining up on Black Friday and stampeding one another for cheap foreign produced consumer goods. Because they're swines at the trough.

Because the soul of America is television, beer and shopping.

I still prefer Jack, he's more of an agitator and grumpy uncle than a pundit.

    America's Worst Enemy....The Liberal Media.

Great bumper sticker, anyone know where I can get one. It will go good with my "Save a Rainforest, Burn a Liberal" or my "Annoy a Liberal - Work, Succeed and Be Happy"....

The truth hurts..........suck it up !

    Without rambling too much ...

I believe that the tamed environment we live in has created an underlying sense of worthlessness. People desperately want to be a part of something. This is why sports have such an amazing following, people get to cheer for a team (that they never played for, and have nothing riding on) and feel like they're a part of it... I think the same goes for some people with political parties... some of these people have been brought up in a strictly one-sided household (either right or left) and I think they take comfort in showing off bumper stickers like that, and attending rallies... They get to feel like they're part of something, even if they've never really put much thought into if that's how they really feel...

I had the ability to get in a serious conversation, one on one, with a guy like this before... Loved Bush, because he was born in a small town where everyone else loved Bush... We discussed all the issues, and how he really feels, then compared how he felt on the issues to the candidates, and he was amazed to find out that he was more "liberal" then he thought...

    Eh, back to work...

I agree with some of what you say, but nevertheless back to the original post....the Liberal Media is the root of all evil. They report on nothing good like vultures. Do you ever hear how many schools, bridges and roads are built in Iraq? Nothing good .....EVER !

No, I don't hear about the number of those things being build in Iraq... I also haven't heard the death count in days... But which is more important to me, as an American; knowing the number of schools built for iraqis or the number of US troops killed in the conflict?

The point is.....they are doing GOOD there and you will never hear it...because its not in "their" agenda. Especially the troops that GAVE their lives. People deserve to hear what they died for....not just the numbers. I have a friend who's going back for the 4th time willingly, but you never see the good he has done. You never see the hundreds of people that line the streets holding up American flags...thanking them for what we've done for them.

I guess I will not make sense to you.....

Seems very accurate to me. As I recall, the NYT (liberal media) endangered all Americans by leaking information about a classified program that had congressional oversight, for the purposes of trying to hurt Bush. Six months later, the NYT apologized for doing such and admitted it was about Bush, and that the program was not illegal.

Here are a few stories from my "Biased Media" archive folder:

Some of those are pretty disturbing, and could quite easily be acknowledged as "America's Worst Enemy."

Could it also be because the good doesn't outweigh the bad? What do you think the school-build to US troop killed ratio is?

I agree, wholeheartedly... That means equal time for those that served honorably while still believing the iraq war is a sham...

    Godspeed... Hopefully he comes back...

Once again, I don't think part of the population waving US flags is more of a story then the other part of the population launching rockets and trying to snipe US citizens that are thousands of miles from their families and friends...

It makes sense, I just don't understand why everyone complains that the positive stories don't get as much air time when there's so much death and destruction in that country... Should we blindly report on only the good, while our troops are being sent home in body bags?

Anyways, even by conducting "selective reporting", how would that make them a "grave enemy"? How many American's have died from the media being too liberal?
