    :confused:Not sure if right section...

Sometimes my mouse won't right click on certain areas, sometimes it will. Sometimes the desktop stuff isn't right-clickable, sometimes it is normal, sometimes it will only allow me to send to sometimes archive, zip, etc. Sometimes I can't open pop ups.

    What the hell!?

Comp: HP Pavilion a6010n Desktop PC...fan is getting weak and is really loud, used computer for 2 months heavily since I bought it, that's all.

I think a malware/virus changed the .exe files or the .cfg files of your computer.

when you click the "un-clickable" icons, do they turn transparent?

No, it is only on my desktop for that. It won't show up the list from right clicking nor does anything visual show when hovering over it - the items still stay on the desktop without any adjustments.

Also for example: can't open documents received in e-mails, and more. However, if I restart my computer everything is fine for a while.

    - Possibly a virus though, I don't have any anti-virus security installed *blushes*

Another example: I am trying to go to the real time play by play pop up for NHL.com scores, on the bottom bar right above the desktop launch tool bar it says on the far left: Javascript:(void)0; which is just on pop ups. If it doesn't work it will say: Errors on pages but sometimes it will work normally. Farther to the right on that bar is: Internet | Protected Mode: On (what is this?) | (+) 100%

Thanks for your help xScout ;) Repped ya :)

My computer came with an antivirus program (Probably Norton) but I never wanted to do the install, should I just use that one?

Do all viruses seek for $ in accounts online or do they just try to be a pain sometimes? No way...I have had the same password for EVERY account/email I have ever had since 1998 (When I began using the internet). Go figure I have to change it now :(

I think you have been using IE 7.
Let me suggest you that you should use firefox, its safer, faster, and customizable.

Try using firefox let me know if those errors still show.

I haven't really used any norton products but I'm pretty sure the version you have is a trial version, therefore its gonig to ask you to buy it. Try AVG, its pretty good as a anti virus.

Keep in mind that this issue is with desktop, clicking documents, and etc as well. I also have Mozilla FireFox but I prefer IE7. Should I still do the virus scan?

yes definitely do a virus scan, you'll never know what you'll find out. Since I'm pretty sure you don't do a recommended monthly virus scan. You're probably infected with one or more, if not its something with your .reg files, but for now do a virus scan.

Currently running a scan with Windows Defender (I have quite a few Anti-Virus programs that came with the computer, also is Firewall necessary to have enabled? It's been disabled for a while now. This problem just started around the time I downloaded FireFox btw...but it seems good right now, even does spell check when I type, awesome!

I never really liked windows firewall and virus scan, I prefer 3rd party apps. Right now I'm using Bitdefender 10 plus which has a virus scan, firewall, anti-spam, and anti spyware. And theres always updated every hour or so. If Im you I'd use AVG ;).
