Directory owners are you experiencing low traffic over the weekends? I get 150 uniques daily from Monday till Friday but in Saturday and Sunday around 50 uniques.
    Whats the catch?

Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Don't worry about it, they'll be back.

I've noticed that for the past few weekends - they make up for it during the week though :)

Not a directory owner, but this Saturday was my highest ever for pageviews. Thanksgiving Day, however, was very low, as it is every year.

Yeah it always depends on site.
Best for me is always night form 12-31/01-01 (New Year) :D
This is about 300-400% of what I usually have.
Also few days before that date are great!

For directories always SPRING is good season.
    Really don't know why...

My business directory gets low traffic during the weekends. Less than half the normal traffic.

the highest usage of internet is during working hours, so it's very common that traffic drops during weekends

That's probably true for most. But in my unique niche (religion), Saturday is usually my best day. Pastors and other church leaders apparently are checking my website on Saturdays getting ready for their Sunday services.

So I think that the niche makes a big difference in when the traffic comes.

All websites suffer for traffic at weekends. No school/work so people spend time with family and do other things away from the PC.

I think many people do things from work, Uni and other places during the week, taking advantage of other peoples computers, internet connections and time.:)

I think they tend to be doing other things on weekends but not always.

Some other sites will do much better on a weekend.

I think that's usual and depends on which kind of traffic you run, for example arcade sites may gain extra visitors during the weekends whilst directories may not.

You would think. I don't run an arcade website, but I do run a couple that are focused on entertainment, and in fact downright silly in places, so I would expect to attract the "goofing off" crowd. Both are busier during weekdays.

Weekends are a great time for database and site maintenance. It’s normal for business traffic to drop considerably.

I run 3 arcade sites and the weekends is allways 10-15% lower then the week days.
