Actually this is what he meant- Whether having the 'keyword' in his domain will help him to rank well or not.

Well, in that case I would say that it is a good idea to have your target keywords in your domain name

Generally it is supposed to be a good Idea to have keywords in the keywords in domain name. But personally I havent seen much difference. I would say, it is good but do not expect to have too much of an advantage.

It is good to have keywords in your domain name, but it is more important to have clear, easy rememberable name.

Or i need to copy the old site's content, and seperate them ? I just want to make a mirror to my old site but use the new good domain

just do a 301 redirect to your site ... google will not penalize you,

ideal strategy if you can purchase keyword rich domains with existing backlinks and then just redirect them to your main site ... I see this all the time

:confused:While you might think that because you think you have a great domain like the rapingpaper.info for your next solo album you would be wrong 1st off Google is is discounting exact match domains so even if you owned SEO.com you would no longer rank number 1 for SEO in order to have a site worth anything h you actually need usability, content, more things that you'll ever learn about here go to seomoz

Exactly.... To rank a keyword the domain age, website name and other factors plays a lot.

It can help. But the rest of your site plays a much bigger part in your rankings. If you have an authority site on the topic, then having an exact match domain will definitely add to your ranking. But Google has discounted exact match domains for small niche sites. So it really depends on what you are going to do with that domain.

I found that now a days that it is more important to have a .com or .net then it is to have your keyword in your domain!

It us to be very important to have your keywords in your domain buy after goggles last update I found that it is easier to get a .com or a .net to rank faster then anything .
So if I had a choice to get a domain with my keywords but only with a - dash's for them, then I would go another route.
So the answer to your question is yes it is helpful but it is less important these days as to getting a .com or .net is .

Our client has a less than 6 month old domain name and currently comes up for very little of the ‘Key Phrases’ that we have optimised the site to appear for. Now we think they may be many reasons that the site may not be working and a couple are relevant to the domain name.
