Paypal banned me because I sold a link to a cigarette company. It is against their policy so its my fault. What can I do now? I have people that work for me. I need to pay their salaries. I have a business to run which survives on Paypal. Is there a way around this without changing my name and moving? Is there another company that is similar?
I think it´s not selling a link which is against their TOS, I think the problem is that it is a link to a cigarette company
Why don't you try to appeal to Paypal, tell them that you did not know what you were doing and that youwill not do it again. Tell them that you are going to refund that sales and you will take steps not to do this again.
Oh, I have tried, they don't listen. ONe strike and your out policy. You have to be very careful how people pay you. They are like Big Brother. I am just worried about paying people that work for me now. Paypal is what most people use here on DP to trade content, links etc. I am screwed.
You cant do anything except appealing at appeal or appeals at paypal.com If they deny your appeal, look for another provider.
The original info they signed up with would be "flagged". Using false info to signup again could still cause trouble especially if the account becomes limited. So not true aslong as you don't break the ToS. I'm sure PayPal doesn't care if the fault was because of the users ignorance.
Yes, but Egold, who uses it? I need to pay people that work for me. What if they don't have an account? Pay Pal seems to be the common payment system here on DP for internet marketers.
I was banned by PayPal on two separate accounts that processed transactions for a site that violated the TOS. I worked with them, they denied my first appeal, but in less than a few days they restored access after i followed their "restore access" steps thoroughly. They don't ban accounts, they set them to "limited access" until you fix what's wrong. I made upwards of 50+ transactions that were violating their TOS and they just asked me to remove PayPal as a payment source from the site in violation. Just keep emailing them, make sure to do it within the Help Center while signed in to your account.
Thats great, but what about my credit card. I can't change my name on the card. Also, my address is attached to the acct.
You can't use any of that info again or risk the same consequence. You could always use fake info which could also lead to the same problem sooner or later.
Follow MrBrian's advice. It is the best course of action you could take. Mainly because if you use e-gold, a lot of people won't do business with you. If you use a standare merchant account, then a few people won't do business with you due to lack of a credit card. Google Checkout or a regular Merchant Account is your only option unless you pursue MrBrian's advice. It may be wise to get started with Google Checkout anyway, because a lot of sites are starting to use that payment system and so will users. You can use it as a replacement until you fix the paypal problem. Besides after everything is resolved you then have 2 separate methods of payment. The only thing you should be wary of is the fact that Google will probably have similar TOS as Paypal does in regards to the cigarette company. Google Checkout also offers a lower payment processing fee than paypal.
