I noticed GoDaddy has a feature to cancel your domain for no money back...if in the future I run into another scenario of purchasing a trademarked domain on accident, couldnt I just turn around and cancel it immediately to stop any possibility of legal action? I know you dont get your money back but its better to lose $10 then to have a headache IMO.
That should solve the problem yes. Most companies will only go after sites that are using their trademark or have parked the trademarked domain. Canceling it immediately should stop legal action before it happens, however it might not help if you've been using the domain for a period of time.
You mean they'll refund you after cancelling a domain name that's registered for more than 120 hours? Or they'll issue "credits" for future purchases? You might want to clarify that lest someone misunderstands it. The reason is that registrars generally don't refund with very few exceptions.
Dynadot "Most domains can be grace deleted within 5 days of registration. You can request a grace deletion from the control panel in the account area. We will give a Dynadot credit for the full purchase amount, which you can use for future orders." They do not refund (give credit) for co.uk or .eu domains.
Just got done talking to godaddy as I was wondering if they had a refund policy. The guy said as long as you cancel the domain within 5 days, you get 100% refunded back... forgot to ask if that is store credit or not. Now after that 5 days....you can still cancel, but there is no refund.
