I think pictures of people are much more attractive, if the person in the photo does not look directly to the camera. So pic #1 is way more interesting in my opinion.

But I'd get rid of those distracting... things (whatever) in the background, add a little contrast, soften the black and add a little sepia all over.
Like this:

 

The background on the 2nd and the person on the 1st.

 

Both of them 10/10 ........... if you're looking to be center fold in a gay magazine, that is.

 

Probably the second one. It has more to it, so to speak. The first would be better if it was cropped though
