About to Drop Adsense

I heard may talk about it, and now I'm ready to walk that plank..

    Hell with PPC... Especially Adsense...

Google builds you up, produces good earnings for months, even years straight, then suddenly.... BOOM.. decreases by 2/3.. No fault of your own. Some days you get $.20 per click, the next day you get $.03 per click..

You pay for content, hire editors and writers because the earnings are enough to support itself, then the next day, it all changes.. Now you need to either lose money or lay the editors and writers off.

This is horribly irritating, and consistancy is not there. How can the small guy grow and acquire a full staff when there is no baseline to rely upon?

For years, I only used Adsense, and averaged between $1,200 and $1,700 a Month.. Over the last few months, I been selling products and downloads, and the income TRUMPS Adsense by FAR... I kept Adsense to Add a bit of diversity and keep the reliability. Now Google is deciding to squeeze the little guys and crunch pennies just like the big companies that pay you just enough to stay in debt..

Don't get me wrong, I still like Google and the traffic they send, but for now, I am moving my monetization strategy elsewhere..

I agree. I'm losing interest in Adsense. I've never done as well as you have but, if I were, I don't know if I'd feel secure making my main revenue money from Adsense. When you're ready to cash the check, who's to say they won't ban you and keep the money you work so hard for for a few invalid clicks. I don't like that possibility hanging over my head meanwhile their advertisers are reaping the rewards from my months of work. Don't like it at all.

I had a different experience with Adsense. My main adsence site, which was a content-rich original site about a sport, was banned from Google a few years back. My adsence revenue dropped like a rock overnight. Never found out why it was banned. I had to move the site to a new domain and it has remained popular within the sport's community, but it has never generated the adsense cash it once did. I'm convinced they are paying me less per click than they used to.

Adsense is okay on some niches, but for some its just a waste of time. I've been looking at other of the same type programs on my blog and the are working out a lot better for me. I need to write up a blog post for some of these.

In many niches you'll be able to make more money in other ways (affiliate marketing, direct ad sales...)

Im also looking at alternatives, mainly direct ad sales followed by affiliate programmes.

The biggest killer for me with Adsense at the moment is the exchange rates.

Since im in Ireland 1 dollar is only worth 0.67 euro to me...

Well, if all your sites are content-based, why don't you use Kontera alongside adsense?

wow u guys havent changed yet? 3 days after googles new crapAds and the new CPC rate I changed advertiser.
I am very happy I made that decision. Adsense can fuck off. Paying $0.02 per click makes me raged.

I tried doing this and it really slowed down the page load time, not only that but many of my forum members complained about the Kontera ads.

When I checked the income from Kontera I was getting about 2 cents per click

    I soon removed it ;)

I have uysed Kontera and not seen much from it.. Or adsense for that matter...depends on the site.
I personally dont click ads on sites..
But If i was searching for a product that brought me to your site , I would have no problem clicking through an affiliate link...

    Affiliates all the way mate!
