Looking for dedicated hosting... need advice for high traffic

Hi

Anyone know of any information to calculate server needs with high traffic estimates?

For example, a standard dedicated server: 1 processor, 1gb mem, 150gb
Or a 2 processor, 4gb mem, and 150gb bandwidth server

How could I determine how many simultaneous and monthly visitors this kind of setup can handle?

Page Example: average load 70kb and 5 php/mysql queries.

I'd appreciate any input or good links.

Well, I am just giving an estimate here, But
The standard 1GB server, 1 Processor etc can hold about 30 users at one time whereas the 2 processor would take about 150-300 users at one time. Hope this helped

What if say the site has 10,000 users that use the site on a regular basis. Numbers I've seen say that each person has about 1 page load per no less than 10 seconds.

You think either of those servers could handle it?

Well for a start, 150GB would be nowhere near enough. The 2 processor server would handle the load fine, As long as you are not running cPanel or DirectAdmin (They hog resources) Also, If you put litespeed server on, It would run much more efficiently/fast.
