Hi, We have a mini job which will make pretty easy money for a decent programmer. This is a reverse auction and the low bidder gets a shot at producing a few bits of code for cash (Paypal payment is assured for successful completion). Desribing the job will probably take longer than coding it, so please bear with me. Any excess details are provided so you know enough to make an informed bid. Here is the job description: -We are working with a decent PHP shopping cart (osCommerce) and a high quality 'closed-source' affiliate program. A few easy changes need to be written for the shopping cart. Less than ten lines of 'proprietary affiliate code' are integrated with the shopping cart, and have (little or) no affect on your job. -The final step of the check-out proccess produces a 'Thank You' page. The PHP scripting works fine for US dollars, and affiliates are properly credited. At this vital step the dollar amount, and other info is sent to the affiliate script. However the 'current dollar amount' is 'just a number' and the affilate script default currency is also USD. -If the customer pays with another currency the xxx.xx value sent to the affiliate program is 'just a number (a wrong number)', not converted into US dollars. -All of your new code will probably(?) be in one single .php file (unless maybe you need to 'define a global variable(s)' related to the final output value(s). -The logic for what we need is very simple. A fraction of a second before the 'Thank You' script is finished we need your (actually pretty easy) code to convert the sale price into USD (if needed) so the rest of the program can 'finish the job right'. -The conversion rates are pre-set (easily changable) variables in the cart program. Your page will not be 'working with current daily conversion rates', only the proper variables. (EDIT, please read: Consider when making your bid, six new variables might need to be defined. The current program defines a default currency, USD for example, and configuration requires our regular updates of (variable) currency rates in the 'form and value' of USD into Yen, C$, Euro, etc.) When reversing Euro into USD we will need a variable defined for that reverse conversion rate (and the values stored in a new mysql database column. It's really pretty simple for a 'real programmer'). -I'm 50-60% ready to do it myself (in tearms of skills), but 101% ready to pay someone else to do it. -Bids are posted here, please, or PM if you must. Reverse auction runs around 48-72 hours (or less). You can have 3-4 days to do the job. If you need more say so before bidding. -Testing your code is required, and we can guarentee you will be paid (see next point). -Since testing is required anyway, we can set up a sample shopping cart on a temporary hosting account. You can even change the password and 'protect your work' during testing. The affiliate code will be on another server during testing. -After your code is shown to work, we will pay by Paypal and receive your original modifications to the osCommerce code. -A BIN, "Bid IT Now" price, was considered, but we are curious what happens if we do it this way, as described above, so low bidder gets first chance at the cash.
