An example: http://www.buxed.com/ Im guessing one person must of bought 20 or so directories and they all have this layout. Each directory only has a # of categories most the time not the one your looking for. Anyone else notice these new directories? Also not to mention that a bunch of directories now have Adbrite everywhere and pop-unders.
Its owned by web pro news. They bought amazing-directory.com from me and did the same. magx.net, 1stchoicesearch.com fourfind.com all the same. They make money and dont care how the directory looks. They also remove the sponsor/designer links in the footer.
There were another bunch released today, i think there must be a blog some where saying to add all your crap to a site. call it a directory, put a free listing to attract all people they could not care about to help land people searching, then get those people to press the majic buttons. These things are not even done well, and are more a directory than i am from mars.
perhaps they have an SEO service coming > where they add your site to their network of directories as part of a package. Who knows....they seem to have no editorial integrity though....it seems you register for their newsletter and get accepted. I wonder if anyone reviews the submissions....
Plus you get the news letters, one of their guys is here, i told him/her about pages not working properly, not sure if that would be sorted by now.
I paid for a good few listings and sitewide when a friend owned one of the above directories, all were removed by the new owner. Thanks Brian
The Directory is Owned by Ientry Inc & WorldBuyer on DP owns all of them, If I am not wrong After acquisition, they place their ads on all the pages.
Pm Worldbuyer, he did reply to me about something else, not sure if they will change their directories for anyone though.
They (web pro news) used the email address to send you many unsolicited emails everyday and a lot other ads. It might be a reason why they buy many directories. In my opinion they are one of the worst email spammers today.
I think its mostly the reason, if they accept almost anything and have a load of directories, thats quite a reach. Minimum maintenance and maximum spamming.
We are sitting here complaining but they are making money... The formula is: 1) Buy up lots of directory sites and other sites... volume will make up for their lack of quality 2) Plaster the sites with ads 3) The sheer volume of sites must give them some good money from Google and CJ 4) Sit back and enjoy the profits I think the directory portion of their sites is just secondary... if you happen to pay for a lsiting then that's gravy and even if they gave the listings away free they will harvest the emails for some affiliate programs and/or sell the lists to some other spammer.
Will submitting to these directories hurt your site in anyway? Since they are all from the same owner?
I think you guys just envy. I think iEntry is doing things right by buying so many directories. I think they rock. Who cares about the quality when all they have is quantity? P.S. i am in no way affiliated with them.
