How to optimize a forum?

I'm just added new free forum for my site, hope that can increase the traffic.

What should I do to promote my forum? My forum is related to travel.

Suggestions would be helpful for me.

yes U can optimize the forum but the optimization of the forum is in the different way because the title is coming dynamically in the forums

so if u want add ur own meta tags then there is functionality "more" if you add it in the code then U can add ur own mete tags

and then they will appear after the name of the thread

 

You should also look for forum optimization scripts. there are already available on market .VBSeo for Vbulletin etc

For exemple a link like www.yourforum.com/showthread.php?id=455 will be changed to:
www.yourforum.com/TOPICTITLE.html by adding keywords in links

Join related travel forum then promote it there...
