Why cannot i buy .us domains

    no, it's a united states TLD
    you could always lie about where you live if you need one desperately

    Well I am based in europe and I have bought plenty of .us names through godaddy.. Had some more than a year and renewed them a couple of times... Even put my real contact info on em..

    You just have to remember that they can take it away from you should they want..
