Hello all! Ok heres my story im a newbie to the web industry. Im 20 years old and I dropped out of college becuase I felt it really wasnt for me. Right now im at home studying to be a personal trainer. I have a little part time job as a wrestling coach. So I have a ton of time on my hands. Im wanting to start websites or whatever to make some money. I know Im not going to get rich but can someone help me get started. Ive been doing lots of research about different things web related. Im a hard worker! Id like to make a around $10/day. I have basic html skills from a class I took at school. If anyone could help me that would be great! Thanks for reading! Thanks, Alex
Okay... Nice to hear that you are really willing to work harder... you can do the following... 1. make a blog via blogspot or register a domain and host it with some webhost 2. register for adsense account 3. update your blog regularly... with kind of info your blog is related. 4. try to search for your kind of work on here DP you could get some daily... for html and image making from time to time as it comes... hope these points are of help...
My one piece of advice would be to get some well needed knowledge and information about the industry and try and gather 'experts' opinions on what works and what doesn't work. The right information is key. Also, after you do some research, don't just jump into any program, try and make sure you know what you are looking for. There are a ton of programs/ways for you to make money and you can start on a very low budget (less than $100 in fact). But hey, it is all a learning curve, so don't dispair when you make a mistake. Have a long term plan.
Im just now sure where to start. If I make a blog what do I blog about? If I build a website whats on it?
You got two niche there. Personal Training and Wrestling coaching... Just build a blog with articles from these niches.... Create a good name in blogger (blogger is free) that contain your interests.. for Example; personaltraining.blogspot.com. If not available, try tomspersonaltraining.blogspot.com etc... Dont worry about "I dont know nothing" like things.... 1 year ago I dont know nothing about HTML or PHP. Now? Yea, I know 2 codes....... <br> and <hr> ........ But the great thing I learned is using FrontPage and Dreamweaver.... Example; Just drag a line in FrontPage or change the colour of the text you types in the Normal Window. Then open Code View and you will get the code..... When time passes you will automatically learn things.... Automatically know procedures of several things.....
Blog about something you are interested in. If you are not interested in it, you won't stick with it. Look at some blogs online...like shoemoney.com or johnchow.com....both those guys make a nice living blogging. You have to look around and learn what people are reading. Write what people want to read about. Find a niche....something you are interested in that others are interested in as well...whether that is football, wrestling, personal trainiing (you should know something about that), etc. Websites...same deal. If you decide to create a site, you make it about something that interests you. There are so many options these days...you can embed Youtube video, etc. Keep your content original...if you can't write, hire someone to do it for you. There are plenty of people right here on DP who will populate a blog or write some web content for you for pennies on the dollar...although I don't recommend buying cheap content. Google some terms...how to make an interesting website, top blogs, etc. Research and implement the positives of your finding into your own brand. It's hard work, but it's fun and offers a lot of freedom. The thing about it is that no one is going to hold your hand and show you what to do. You are going to have to read and research and fill in the missing pieces by trial and error. I wish you the best of luck.
I also know about Mixed Martial Arts. I have trained for almost 5 years now. How would I make money with these niches? Where would I promote sites like these? I have an idea for a mixed martial arts site but would need a lot of help with the design of the site.
Why not visit my site at site http:// money makers and takers dot com and look at the following: Make sure that you notice the advertsing on this site. See how all the ads have to do with internet marketing the same would apply if you decided to create a blog about personal training Blogger.com has a great way to start off right off the bat and get your site running immediately Write about personal training, techniques, routines etc. Even mention some of your personal experiences Look into an affiliate program such as cj.com or clickbank.com to use as advertising on your site or pick an affiliate product that would be relative to your personal training theme. Apologies for not providing the link to the site, i'm not at that stage yet but since your a member here, you get the idea
I think im going to try out the personal training blog and see how that does. I need to try and figure out how to promote a blog like that though. Would a blog made for college kids do any good? With general humor, beer, ect... What would blog like this have on it?
When using advertisement programs/affiliate programs, make sure you are following their tos... Adsense prohibits using their ads on drugs, alcoholic, porn, gambling related contents....
It seems like you're on your way. Just take some action and go ahead, as I think you are on the right track
Promoting a blog is not that difficult. Feedburner.com is great and so is Technorati. These are quick and easy to use sites to get you promotion up and running in an hour or so. Then you can focus on more time consuming things like Squidoo where you create something called an a lens. A lens is like a webpage dedicated to your niche. You can add all kinds of things to your lens including the feed (which you get from feedburner) from your blog. In addition, be sure to put a link to your blog in your sig here at DP. This will get you valuable backlinks (links to your blog from DP) which help your pagerank. You can also use sites like PayPerPost, Bloggerwave, and Smorty which will pay you to make posts to your blog about things that interest you. When you're writing for your blog, try reviewing different websites on personal training and include some screenshots. Also...reviewing different college programs that offer personal training would fit in your niche as well. You will never want for things to write about. Remember, Google is your friend and anytime you have questions, Google it or post here at DP. We are ready to help you.
Hello bigdad, please PM me sometime and I'll get back to you if I decide to start my ecourse on this exact thing. Step by step instructions with my help the whole way.
If you are doing Blogger, I have a step by step on my website under Get Paid. It shows you how to add Adsense to monetize your blog as well. Just FYI, there are no affiliate links or anything of that nature for you to click on there...just straight up information with screen shots. Hope it helps.
