Lets me honest, is it actually worth camping out overnight to get some electronics or whatever?

What does that tell you about our society?

I personally have not, and will not camp out nor wake up to go shopping at 3am.

Of course it is, it has a ton of sales, but it's not worth waiting in the lines.

I did it previous years and had a damn good time doing it, but this year it's just not worth it. I don't see anything good enough in the ads to care much this season. I might try to walk in @ 5AM at some store, but probably not going to wait inline unless there is some surprises in the ad today.

In general, black friday IS worth it though. good time to stock up for the year (still have cd-rs from last year!).

I have never done it and I am not starting now.

Minimum 5 items per store and I am going to stand in line for a chance to buy? It is a failed business model and I am not going to support it.

A lot of the stuff will be cheaper later anyway.

I remember when Office Max had free stuff the first couple hours on Black Friday. It was worth it back then, but not now.

My nephew has plans to shop starting at midnight.

I think it is worth it. If nothing else, it encourages people to spend more.

Is it the day after thanks giving? I was not sure what is black friday at first. First thought of good friday for a second. Then I kinda figured from the above posts. I have seen the full parking lots a couple of times before.

I think the low prices are worth the wait on the lines.

Yeah, it's the day after Thanksgiving Suvi. The Friday after Thanksgiving is considered the official start for Christmas shopping.

I've never camped out myself and wouldn't want to. After seeing the news and watching the mobs it puts into perspective on what people care more about - self-indulgence. If it's not broken, you don't need a new one. I guess I hate to see money go to waste just because someone wants a bigger, sleeker, prettier version of what they already own.

And just in case you guys missed it!

Compusa upped the ante this year (at least here). They were going to open from 9PM until midnight on Turkey Day.

Same old stuff, limited quanities, rebates you will never get and so on.

It is sad when the consumptive economic machine can not shut down for a day or two per year.

For those that disagree.............Happy shopping. Shop till you drop. You make my lifestyle possible. :)

I hate Black Friday. I used to work in retail and I have seen fistfights breakout in the stores on Black Friday. And all of the shoppers were GRUMPY! I hated working Black Friday, and vowed that I would never again set foot in a store on the day after Thanksgiving. I have yet to break that vow.

I will be sleeping late tomorrow, for sure!

I finally got The Sopranos, series 1-6p1. The total was $165, so it was worth it.
