you are already doing the good things to rank well : using wordpress and you're using the all-in-one seo pack plugins.... well done. But perhaps you should make better use of the features of what you already have : write clear concise description when writing post in the all-in-one fields provided for that and also appropriate keywords there too. also the easiest way is to have higher pagerank sites link to you by for e.g submitting to high pagerank directory and getting their buttons on your site so that they link to you and you to them.
Proper on-page and off-page opt will help your site in SERPs. Gotta check your competitors site, provide a good info about your site and mix some amazing/unique pics with the content (often times it drives the traffic)..
what do you mean localized? .com from google.ph has different result. but most commonly it easy to rank on your location.
What I mean with localized is if you prioritized to rank in US you should get more quality link from site that has domainname.us
